Second day where I did 5x6 back squats with 200lbs. I'm happy. I'm getting tired faster than when I started in December, so I will be sure to keep going so that my fatigued body compensates by getting stronger. I hope by the end of the year I can front squat 200 and back squat my fiance.

My wrists are weak, impeding my front squat potential. I'm embarassed by my front squat numbers.
u probably shouldnt do squats, especially if u are heavier guy, u may end up with no knees in your 50ties.maidenhaver wrote: ↑ February 13th, 2024, 00:55My wrists are weak, impeding my front squat potential. I'm embarassed by my front squat numbers.
i can kick way better than the bjj fag i posted, especially from leading leg.

I'm 219 lb at home, < 200 lb at work. My knees never stick out past my toes and I work my lower back with extensions. Squats aren't the problem, my baby wrists are. I tried using straps and the straps just slide. My only course is to get bigger wrists.Red7 wrote: ↑ February 15th, 2024, 17:15u probably shouldnt do squats, especially if u are heavier guy, u may end up with no knees in your 50ties.maidenhaver wrote: ↑ February 13th, 2024, 00:55My wrists are weak, impeding my front squat potential. i seen lifter who had both his knee caps replaced when he was like 35. at 45 he could barely stand. u better off doing static. mentzer was right, should avoid full motion heavy load stuff, u dont add anything to stimulation and just fuck up joints, u should keep muscles at high contraction during load.maidenhaver wrote: ↑ February 15th, 2024, 17:34I'm 219 lb at home, < 200 lb at work. if u got pull up bar u can do wrists by limited movement while hanging without risking injury like with dumbell partial curls. if u can do pullup u can do some movememnt with chin over bar. hanging on 1 arm is also good especially if bar is thicker or it can roll freely.
what i liked a lot is using angled bars so your wrist are vertical to body instead horizontal and trying to keep certain angle with your wrists under body weight. i think its good for pronation and general wrist strenght but this is not for heavier guys.

Yeah, but 200 lbs squat isn't heavy lifting, its considered beginner stuff. I'm just sticking to what I've seen work, which is traditional compound lifts.
A: Back skwot, bench press, bent over row, overhed db, standing bb curl, back ext, leg raisins, abs stuff
B: front squat, standing press, dedlift, dip, pull up, back ext, leg raisins, abs
That is five to six days /week, except last month when I worked, so I don't exercise at work.
The human male body is in optimal condition between ages 20-40, we were cursed to live short lives. Not surprising he had to replace his knees at 45, if he started so late, but I was already conditioned to walking on steel all the time and knew years ago my body would age faster than other sedentary people.
I think its strange his knees gave out. If he was doing a proper squat, he'd have failed in his lower back/abs. I don't do wide squats, I do narrow.

i think he had to replace em at 35 lel. dont know what was main cause but i cant imgine shit worse than squats for kness. i used to some none weighted frog jumps (u just jump from squat position and repeat couple times) and i was told by some guys who had some trianing exprience that it will fuck u up too if u keep doing for long time.maidenhaver wrote: ↑ February 15th, 2024, 22:24Yeah, but 200 lbs squat isn't heavy lifting, its considered beginner stuff. even 30 kg squats is bad for knees, especially if u weigh more. the tissue there just gets hammered, stronger/tighter joint envelope may help but its still bad. and if u are heavy guy and havent exercised before your joint is probably not in great shape and will degrade much faster as there will be more bone on bone movement. even if u are heavy guy and dont lift u get fucked knees pretty fast. dont do it, if u waste time for gym instead working at home do those leg things contraptions for quads, or better yet get on bicycle stationary or not and do some max resistance short runs.
lol i have to post this, what a crip, if he had to walk 10km skin would peels off from his inner thighs
► Show Spoiler
bench presses are also bad and retarded, i seen many exprienced guys advise against it, its bad for joints. use free dumbells or do bench press but with short/narrow grip, but then u engage less chest and more triceps.
if u are fat just do pushups and 1 arm pushups, u can put hands on whatever angle and distance u want to engage parts u need

How you avoid getting knees over your toes even when front squatting sounds very strange.

In any squat, my knees never stick out past my toes. If I can't control that, I'm too tired and I stop. All I do is keep my feet shoulder wide, weight balanced, look up, and squat.

How the hell do you niggers expect to train your knees if you dont allow compression. Injuries happen when you suddenly find yourself out of position you are not used to having loaded . Get strong at the end ranges of motion -> avoid injuries.
Not allowing your knees to go over your toes at all is as retarded as it gets.

Being worried about knee caving is such a meme. If your knees are caving in through the entire movement, yes it's a problem, and you should take a more narrow stance to allow your hips to be in a better position.Irenaeus wrote: ↑ February 16th, 2024, 10:46Watser wrote: ↑ February 16th, 2024, 09:27How you avoid getting knees over your toes even when front squatting sounds very strange.
If you have dynamic "caving" on the way up from a squat, it's because your adductors are working. The adductors are the primary hip extensors when you are below parallel in a squat and play a pivotal role in the transition from the descend to the ascend. Again, if the dynamic caving is excessive it is very likely a sign that you need to narrow your stance to get into a better position where your hips can exert force more effectively.

lol I get compression when my ass about hits the floor and I stand up again. There's nothing weird going on. What's weird is how doing squats is said to be bad for knees. I never feel my knees except for split second midway through the squat.Watser wrote: ↑ February 16th, 2024, 12:49How the hell do you niggers expect to train your knees if you dont allow compression. I havent squatted real weights since March 2020 (guess what happened then). I was doing 100kg (calculate that for Imperial if you want) for 4 sets of 10 reps, those were the days.

Then according to Mentzerfags you should be able to hoist 400kg cold.Irenaeus wrote: ↑ February 16th, 2024, 13:43I havent squatted real weights since March 2020 (guess what happened then). I was doing 100kg (calculate that for Imperial if you want) for 4 sets of 10 reps, those were the days.

LOL I don't know about that. I never did 1RPM shit for fear of hurting myself. In any case, I have a small fraction of the strength I did back in 19-20.maidenhaver wrote: ↑ February 16th, 2024, 13:46Then according to Mentzerfags you should be able to hoist 400kg cold.Irenaeus wrote: ↑ February 16th, 2024, 13:43I havent squatted real weights since March 2020 (guess what happened then). I'm building it up over 10 years. Started fitness in 2019 and lifting last November. I decided one day I would, to boost my shitposts.
You phrased it like it's a conscious thing you try to avoid, in that case it's probably either your proportions or you may sit back a little too much in the front squat.maidenhaver wrote: ↑ February 16th, 2024, 13:42lol I get compression when my ass about hits the floor and I stand up again. And yes, deep squats are amazing for your knees. I had a long block some years back where I did lowbar squats, and my knees would start hurting from just going up and down stairs. Switched to highbar and it immediately went away.
Yeah this is also terrible advice. It's always a loading issue rather than the movement itself. Exercises like goodmornings or RDL's you could argue have a higher inherent 'risk' since it's almost 100% hip extension, but they will also get you as strong as a fucking horse if programmed and progressed properly.maidenhaver wrote: ↑ February 16th, 2024, 13:38That's what the article says. It was a conscious decision not to extend my knees, because I was always told not to by a coach, like he was probably taught not to, but I never knew why and assumed it was for knee stress. I never lifted for real results until last year, it was just something to do when bored, and now that I started I realize how weak I was. I feel strong now, but might be what an average farmer was in strength, before machines.
Maybe only what the average man in his 20s was 70 years ago.

guys, remember to post here in 2027 when i become bitcoin zilionaire and u will need sats for titanium knee cap replacements. i will be proably too jew to help but it will be good for a laugh.
btw men in past were weak as fuck. 1 malnurishment 2 heavy labour does not conduce much strenght. unless u are like nigger runnig around after monkeys but then u are fit and lean not build for useless lifting.
sometimes i wish i had short legs and short arms. if only my arms were couple inches shorter i could do like 20 one arm pullups by now like some midget gymnast.

Malnourishment is bad, but staying hungry isn't. The average peasant before industrialization is absolutely going to smoke the average peasant today, or elitist larp who only exercises for a hobby. Unless you are rich just to buy a farm and bale hay all day, you are too soft and conditioned to ease to compete with a day laborer 100 years ago.

u mean those guys doing heavy labour who were losing all their teeth at age 24 and were happy about it?maidenhaver wrote: ↑ February 16th, 2024, 17:02Malnourishment is bad, but staying hungry isn't. i guess there were hard/fucked hard, beside their gums that were soft.
if u are peasant u dont "compete" u have fucking lost and be better off dead. land owner these days who can do with machines job of 10 000 men is not a peasant btw, and why jews wants their shit gone.
staying hungry is bad btw, your body is eating your muscles and fat (which is also brain). u just not suppose to stuff yourself like a pig and stretch your stomach so much u will have to eat 11 times a day. food shouldnt suppose to be entertainment but rahter nuisance/break u have to take between fapping and working out.

Yes, the average toothless, lanky peasant from 100 years ago or the average office worker from 70 years ago could absolutely destroy you.
