Almost certain what they're doing is illegal if it's true. It doesn't matter if the people actually were cheating or not, it's not legal to just destroy someone's property lol

well, that's the thing, it's not, but it's made to look like it is. It's supposed to be read "Raven", but Я and И aren't an R and an N... It's like that TV drama from years ago, Grssk.
I remember watching the Smallville episode with some character getting a crate from Russia or something that had "fragile" written on it in Cyrillic. It was an unreadable "ФРАГЫЛЕ."

I think google translate exited at that point. Is it that hard to put word in a translator? Probably rhetorical question.

I don't think they cared. I also don't think it's that big a deal for your average normalfag in the audience.

Can't wait for Mihoyo to come out with its own Autochess already. Only reason I ever even consider reinstalling Riot Games sometimes, every other game of theirs has solid alternatives

it's really strange to see just how straight this game actually plays the fantasy because I just
don't see that anymore when I think of a modern fantasy story I always think of
some sort of politically motivated or dark ethic story which uses fantasy
tropes as a medium but Kingsfield is just straight-up fantasy and that is
really refreshing you meet a fairy and a dragon and there are no strings attached
you fight monsters in the game expects you to buy into the fantasy tradition of nobility John Alfred Forester is crowned
king by the end because he saved the land and isn't that just delightful I was so ready for this game's ending to

First mover status.

The early years had a strong experience. Character design pulled you in. They had talented artists like Mynki, IgnusDei, Liger Inuzuka, etc. The slower Left 4 Dead tactical and stealth gameplay (before bullet jumping was added and you pressed a button to one shot the map). The main story from The Second Dream through The Sacrifice had mystique and some gravitas and hadn't become juvenile yet.

Destiny came out after people were already invested in Warframe, and was offputting with the Peter Dinklage "comedy" character and the Nathan Fillion satire and so on. Character design was not as exotic. First person shooter gameplay is going to be a turn off for people.

I like the fact that the Warframe devs saw a "glitch/bug" being used by the community and instead of fixing it, they actually made it into an actual game mechanic.

Destiny was way more popular than Warframe in the early years, I never even heard of Warframe until years after it released. Destiny was from the makers of Halo, so it got endless coverage/people talking about it.
If anything, I'd attribute it to Destiny being console-locked.

Warframe is also pretty unique in that prior to a couple games trying to copy it(the korean one I forgot the name of for example), there's not really any game like it. Destiny 2 is just an FPS with some extras.
TBH they're not even really similar games.

So is the mobile spinoff of Destiny 2 going to keep getting updates? I recall reading it was way ahead of the PC/console version in terms of content.

I remember it being the other way around. People on forums and youtube were eyeing Destiny as a possible Warframe killer up until its release, checked it out on release, reception turned negative, and then went back to Warframe. The Destiny threads fizzled out while Warframe threads continued being very active up until the The Sacrifice era content drought.

I remember saying earlier that I think HSR did need more gamemodes, aka ways to interact with the characters you bought.
  • The visual novel/movie cutscene story is very long, but there are relatively not many fights to use your characters in for the story.
  • There isn't a big world with a lot dungeons to go find or quests to go do which would keep you occupied for dozens or over a hundred hours like in a singleplayer RPG.
  • There were a couple side storylines/events with combat like the Heliobi event or the Wardance, but once you've done that your once again out of things to do with your characters.
  • You spend about half an hour to an hour max on Memory of Chaos, Pure Fiction, and Apocalyptic Shadow per week since you can just skip to the highest tier you have cleared and only fight that one.
  • I had fun progressing through the Simulated Universe: Swarm Disaster and Divergent Universe gamemodes up to around difficulty tier 5 or 6, but the core gameplay loop of "teleport into a room, run forward, fight trash enemies or do talk to a floating card to do a non visual dialogue box choice to get curios or blessings" gets old eventually.
  • HSR adds a lot of event minigames like Origami Bird Clash or Seal Slammers or the management sims, but you don't use the characters you paid for in those.
HSR - like most gachas - also has a problem where the business model is about introducing new appealing characters every 2 to 3 weeks,
Only game like this I played was warframe and I hated it. I just wanted to play as a handful of frames but they kept releasing new ones that were basically existing frame but slightly different. Imo it's a terrible monetization model long-term because you're actively destroying player attachment to your intellectual property.
After a frame was released it no longer got any new content and was effectively forgotten.
I had the same issue with Warframe. I joined Warframe when I saw an ad for Zephyr in 2014, bought her deluxe pack and pretty much mained that frame for the whole game. I liked being able to fly fast and her projectile shields. I levelled other frames out of novelty or to level up my account EXP but would mostly just play Zephyr.

I was hooked on the game up until 1. the bullet jumping was added and the tileset revamps, which diminished my choice of Zephyr, and also eroded elements of the game like stealth. And then 2. when the open world zone on Earth was added and you had to do a ton of grinding there to get Operator equipment and the path stuff. After that, I became a seasonal only ocassionally checking in when the plot moved forward, but by the time of The Sacrifice I was tuning out, and I didn't come back until a few months ago to check out how the story ended.

Idea for aspiring game developers:

Instead of just letting me put a note on a map, let me take a screenshot and draw/write on top of it, and pin that to the map to view later.
Instead of just letting me take a screenshot and draw/write on it. Force me to take the "photographic memory" perk first.

Things started going downhill when they did the Eidolon junk because the open world crap wasn't really open, it was a static sandbox, but it meant less work for DE in the end. The Eidolons themselves were kind of fun except they kept screwing us over because we figured out how to kill them insanely fast. DE was always in a constant race with itself to the bottom because they don't have any idea why their own game works. Everything is a content island and they're always trying to court new players while screwing the veterans. Also, being the Canadian scum they are, they began injecting more and more gross gay race communism into each new expansion until it became intolerable.

As a wise player once told me, you don't grind in Warframe to get stronger, you grind so that you can grind so that you can grind so that you can grind...and I finally had enough of the grind when they introduced the kuva liches. Killing them over and over wasn't fun at all, it was unpleasant and the rewards weren't enough to go on putting up with more ******** sandboxes and more gay race communism. I started during Specters of the Rail and finally ended at the very beginning of Phobos or whatever it was called.
