The Bearded Lady is a old circus act. If that character is in a circus (and considering how it's offering to read your fortune, that's likely), I'd say it's in the appropriate setting.
And, as Rusty's mentioned, Atom takes place in Russia where a sizeable portion of population (mainly the Boomer equivalent) remember communism fondly. It's basically reminiscing about your childhood.

might all be the case. but when there is a character that speaks positivly about communism and you have no way to severly counter that or kill him thats bad.

I know thats an old circus act but there sure a several cirucs acts that have been left out. why go for a tr00n? for some reason the devs made the decision to place a tr00n in the game which could have easily been replaced by an elderly woman reading your fortune or something like that.

They consist of social outcasts deemed freaks, and since it is set in Russia (I think southern Russian wastes (Don-Volga region)), it makes sense that there are people who wish communism would come back or who have stories about how it was perceived, oh and it takes place in 2005, nineteen years after a nuclear war in 1986.

In regards to communism, this is like saying that Resident Evil 5 is woke because it has ******* in it. It's set in Africa, it would have ******* in it.

i dont think so the headshape and features dont look feminie at all. it looks like a man with makeup. i looked up some bearded ladys (google will love that input) that image does not fit.

The character is some kind of mutant, not a ******, but the portrait is a joke.

You remember jokes, right? They're this thing we have in the rest of the world outside Germany. We've discussed them before.

This could be the circus adding a new freak to the roster by dressing up a guy in women's clothes and putting make up on him. That wouldn't be troonfaggotry, but just good old fashioned carney bullshittery.
This is just speculation on my part, though. I haven't played Atom further than the first village the month it released.

It definitely looks like a man, not a woman. They went out of their way to make it look like a man. Maybe it's a "joke" but it makes me wonder if the same people using that defense also say FF7 is woke because Cloud is forced to dress as a woman, which is also played as a joke because everyone back then agreed that cross dressing was freakish. Can't have it both ways.

i had that discussion about forceds crossdressing jokes with furin once. We concluded that it should be an informational.

In this case, the character isn't even being portrayed as a ****** (or crossdressing) as a joke, apparently. It's not normalizing ******** if the character isn't meant to be a ******.

Both are real. The bearded lady and all the other weirdos at the crashed airliner are mutants. The game takes place in what was the USSR, the player works for the equivalent of the post-apoc KGB, what did you expect?

I expected nothing. the only thing i new about atom rpg was that it was considered containing no woke content by furin at some point and that it is post nuke.
