RPGHQ Curator Recommendations
If you don't want to write an entire review but just want to say a game is HQ or LQ, link the game here. If there's multiple HQ/LQ votes for a game I guess I'll just go with the majority.
These are essentially placeholders and will be overridden by a HQ-approved review.

Is world of horror actually good? All I've seen of it made me think it was a style over substance deal.
It's a pretty merciless roguelite that requires you to know what you're doing, avoid combat if at all possible, investigate, gather occult knowledge and hopefully "win". Even if it's not as tight mechanically as many others games, there's nothing quite like it, so warts and all, I recommend everyone that likes cosmic horror to give it a whir.

Can you access this? They removed it from the store but I got to the page through my library:
Finally, a hidden gem:
Why is the curator recommending Wrath of the Righteous? Kingmaker, maybe, but I'm surprised to see WOTR.
Oh, I see, because of Humbaba's review. Disgraced former forum members shouldn't count!

Anyone recommending those can be summarily dismissed.Acrux wrote: ↑ April 26th, 2024, 13:24Why is the curator recommending Wrath of the Righteous? Kingmaker, maybe, but I'm surprised to see WOTR.

When you write a review you can get feedback from the @Game Review Reviewers, they'll critique it and suggest changes until it's good enough to be considered a HQ review.

@Game Review Reviewer I moved the game review section to a top-level forum.

I've seen @Kalarion give positive statements on Archaelund, but haven't seen any commentary on the other two.
For The Darkness Below: "The Darkness Below is HQ." Honestly, I think let's wait on it until he's closer to being done. Sabbas was pretty good about updating for a while, but I haven't seen any recently. @Dorateen - have you tried it yet?rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ April 26th, 2024, 18:15I've seen @Kalarion give positive statements on Archaelund, but haven't seen any commentary on the other two.
I can do a mini-review of the other one later.
I am holding off on playing any early access because I want to enjoy the full release. Right now I am in the middle of playing Realms of Antiquity.Acrux wrote: ↑ April 26th, 2024, 18:38For The Darkness Below: "The Darkness Below is HQ." For games that look promising and are not yet released and/or early access, should I add an informational blurb of 'Possible HQ'?
'Informational' is one of the three choices: Recommended, Not Recommended, Informational

Seems optimistic. Maybe UQ (Unknown Quality)?rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ April 26th, 2024, 19:14For games that look promising and are not yet released and/or early access, should I add an informational blurb of 'Possible HQ'?
Not to toot my own horn, but I've revised my fairly shitty review of Filcher with a bit more oomph. I will never miss an opportunity to shill for this game, so if the quality is up to par, maybe link to it via the Steam curator list?

Do you want me or @Acrux to proofread it and then move it to the Reviews forum?gerey wrote: ↑ April 26th, 2024, 20:44Not to toot my own horn, but I've revised my fairly shitty review of Filcher with a bit more oomph. Sure, he can edit it however he wants. I'm far from what one would consider a good writer in English (or really, any language), let alone a competent reviwer.WhiteShark wrote: ↑ April 26th, 2024, 20:46Do you want me or @Acrux to proofread it and then move it to the Reviews forum?

Great. I moved it to the Review forum preemptively so that Acrux can make any necessary corrections. It already looks pretty good to me. I'll get to it later if he turns out to be busy.
@gerey - Done! Just a few really minor edits to punctuation/spelling in a few places. Really nice review!

Seems weird for a forum curator to review games for which we don't have threads or discussions
