Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Choose Your Path!

Four thousand years before the rise of the Galactic Empire, the Republic verges on collapse. Darth Malak , last surviving apprentice of the Dark Lord Revan, has unleashed an invincible Sith armada upon an unsuspecting galaxy.

Crushing all resistance, Malak’s war of conquest has left the Jedi Order scattered and vulnerable as countless Knights fall in battle, and many more swear allegiance to the new Sith Master. In the skies above the Outer Rim world of Taris, a Jedi battle fleet engages the forces of Darth Malak in a desperate effort to halt the Sith's galactic domination.

Hundreds of Jedi Knights have already fallen in battle against the ruthless Sith. You are the last hope of the Jedi Order. Can you master the awesome power of the Force™ on your quest to save the Republic? Or will you fall to the lure of the dark side? Hero or villain, savior or conqueror... you alone will determine the destiny of the entire galaxy!

Community patch I found on PCGW. Skimmed the changes and saw that it speeds up the diving/space suits so I'm sold.

Junior Adventurer's Guild

This is the Kidz Klub version of The Adventurer's Guild. The goal is to get people playing more recent classics, weird little charming RPGs, hidden gems, and ideally give people a fun chance to try games they haven't played before with their good friends at RPGHQ. I highly encourage voting for games you haven't played before! Maybe try a completely new build if it's a game you've already finished.
How exactly are the requirements for games here different than the main thread? IDK just look at the list above and go with the flow. They should be approachable for people who haven't grown up with real old school CRPGS, and if they have direct sequels we should generally play them in order.

I have hundreds of hours in the M&B+Warband+Bannerlord but I've never tried the official expansions, so I'm interested to see how the campaigns play out.

Playing DAO rn so I'll vote for that. Don't think a month would be enough to get through some of these (DAO, Oblivion), if going for a somewhat completionist playthrough.

You don't have to finish it in a month, though.

I'm gonna vote for a game and not play it again, just watch me.
Also, I'm gonna vote for KotOR for the gayest reason possible - May the 4th be with you.
Also, also, keeping the votes hidden is cool.

System Shock isn't an RPG btw.
Is it not? I thought it was Deus Exish. This is particularly bad because I have played it before.

You sure you didn't play the sequel? It's an RPG

Definitely 1, but I didn't get far. I remember smashing cameras with a pipe and clicking the UI to change my stance.

I never really understood why people still call System Shock 1 an immersive sim. I get that it was called that in the past to set it apart from contemporary "Doom clones", and it certainly did try to be immersive - your HUD was diegetic, the maps tried to make you feel like you were in a real space station, you could interact with the environment in a limited fashion, but most of those features were also found in Duke Nukem or Shadow Warrior.

At best you could view it as an FPS shooter with elements of a metroidvania, but it's certainly not an immersive sim by modern standards - there are no alternative ways to complete objectives, there are no different character builds, you can't interact with the environment in a systematic way.

Arguably, System Shock 2 was the true inception of the genre - or at the very least the first game that popularized the core features of the genre, not System Shock 1.

indie/small devs are absolutely obsessed with purple & green colors for some reason, I expect it to become a AAA fad too
