Looks like a better Valheim. I'm tempted to purchase as if I'd have time to play it.

I saw this recommended to me on Steam and was mildly interested until I saw all of the redflags. I don't like that it's early access survivalcraft but also the screenshots are just characters stiffly standing while looking at something in the background which doesn't inspire confidence.

As garbage I think this genre of crafting/survival is, I do admit it fascinates me how they roped in a bunch of people into playing what is essentially an aborted MMO fetus with the tagline "now go build sandcastles and pillow forts in this boring ass open world where nothing ever happens."

Played it all last night. Objectively a bad game, but I have 5 friends to play with and any game is fun with 5 friends.
Fast travel to Ubisoft tower -> glide to map marker -> fight enemies that are too stupid to ever pose a threat to you -> acquire thing that makes game easier (no difficulty options).
The gimmick is that some areas are foggy and have a not terribly restrictive time limit before you need to step out for a second.

I think we both have schizo Steam libraries due to our reckless piracy. Hard to tell what you like from it.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ January 25th, 2024, 18:18I tried the game and didn't like it.Oyster Sauce wrote: ↑ January 25th, 2024, 18:16You declined my last prestigious invitationrusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ January 25th, 2024, 17:52

This is a great game I've been playing it a lot. It's not like other survival games, there are quests and puzzles like an rpg. If I didn't know it was early access game I wouldn't know from playing.
It looks good, I tried it out, but this one I think based on how complete it is already, I am going to hold off and see if they can hit release in a reasonable timeline so I can play it fully. If not, I will look into it after it has had some time to and then try it at a later date. Solid start though.Nooneatall wrote: ↑ February 25th, 2024, 03:11This is a great game I've been playing it a lot. It's not like other survival games, there are quests and puzzles like an rpg. FWIW I refunded it because it didn't even have basic features like in-game communication.

I heard something about developers being forced to monitor and censor any game with chat that's released in the EU. Any truth to that?rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ February 27th, 2024, 02:24FWIW I refunded it because it didn't even have basic features like in-game communication.

Yes.

Who could have possibly guessed that regulations would just cause developers to not implement it at all?

He is still coping with being wasted by a goblin in Valheim.WhiteShark wrote: ↑ January 25th, 2024, 17:24Why did you make this thread, @rusty_shackleford?IRC wrote:<Rusty_Shackleford__> shame I don't really find these types of games fun
<Rusty_Shackleford__> it seems pretty fun but I don't really like survival-crafter games
The game itself looks like the typical UE trash:
- Can only be played at 30 FPS on a NSA spy center cluster
- Visual clutter to the max
- generic faux medieval style

He stubbed his toe in Outward and that was the end of our adventure. Rusty is not what you might call, rugged.Decline wrote: ↑ March 26th, 2024, 15:45He is still coping with being wasted by a goblin in Valheim.WhiteShark wrote: ↑ January 25th, 2024, 17:24Why did you make this thread, @rusty_shackleford?IRC wrote:<Rusty_Shackleford__> shame I don't really find these types of games fun

None of that is important to me to be honest. I mean, I find more enjoyment in games from the 80's and 90's these days than I do modern games. I do like the idea of dungeons throughout the game with different themes and the like. I had hoped Conan was going to do this, but they turned more to a focus on the PvP systems. If this goes as it appears, it might be a nice system with lots of potential (especially with modding).Decline wrote: ↑ March 26th, 2024, 15:45He is still coping with being wasted by a goblin in Valheim.WhiteShark wrote: ↑ January 25th, 2024, 17:24Why did you make this thread, @rusty_shackleford?IRC wrote:<Rusty_Shackleford__> shame I don't really find these types of games fun

Valheim does do this heavily.Xenich wrote: ↑ March 26th, 2024, 16:47None of that is important to me to be honest. damn, months later and you're still lying about me because I joined, made a small house, and quit due to boredom. That's some serious butthurt.Decline wrote: ↑ March 26th, 2024, 15:45He is still coping with being wasted by a goblin in Valheim.
Yeah, I played it a bit, I do like some of the feel and play, though I think my main issue was its linear progression in systems of play. Not a bad game though.Decline wrote: ↑ March 26th, 2024, 17:01Valheim does do this heavily.Xenich wrote: ↑ March 26th, 2024, 16:47None of that is important to me to be honest. This looks like Conan Exiles except it's not managed by a greedy soulless company ran by retards AKA fagcom.
I'm actually mildly interested.
