Exodus
Exodus
So, this is a new RPG (TBA), apparently made by Bioware's old guard. That would be promising, but the main character is apparently (at least for now) set as a woman of indeterminable race (and sexuality, let's be real here). What says the racists and misogynists of rpghq?

Oh cool the same people who slowly threw the company into a toilet are making slop that already puts mutt holes front and center? I'm so excited!
The old guard is incapable of making good games anymore. Every time they announce a new game from the developers of [insert legendary game here] it ends up being dogshit. The entire western industry collective lost it a long time ago. Never get hyped for games again.

The tidbits about their setting they were posting sounded pretty interesting, but the game itself looks as generic as possible. Humanity leaving earf, ancient aliens, gruff space marines. It's like someone took every scifi show and videogame in existence, and then them blended together using some generative AI tool.
The only interesting thing they have is the time dilation mechanic they pocketed from Interstellar.

If you're interested in the Ultima games, it's best to start at Ultima 4. The first three are just novelties.
It's funny, isn't it? How we grow up and some things that we loved now has barely any meaning, like reading the Canterbury Tales.

Is this Returnal 2?
If you're going to play NES Exodos better use the remastered romhack: https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/4949/

Ultima 4 and beyond makes me wonder if Richard Gariott was a boomer hippie at some point. "Whoa dude, gotta like...spread peace & love throughout Britannia, because like, it's good?...Oh but actually it's not good, if it like goes too far so we gotta keep an eye on that...and like, your character is totally racist against those gargoyle demons which is totally way uncool man"rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ April 19th, 2024, 01:35If you're interested in the Ultima games, it's best to start at Ultima 4.
