Fallout 1-2 are pretty accessible games, and they look fine. Just play them.

This new mod will never see the light of day, and even if it will it's gonna be an abortion because Fo1-2 world and structure cannot be replicated using bethesda's open world engine and systems.

fallout & fallout 2 look better than any other game in the series

tactics messes up the style too much to look better despite higher fidelity

If only there was a mod that increased the resolution of the sprites. Every time I look at screenshots of the game, It looks to me like pixelated mess.

I for one don't care about the graphics and think they still look cool. The gameplay just makes me want me want to stick a fork in an outlet and again I personally just get totally turned off by isometric games no matter how hard I desperately try to give them a shot.

it's an overblown issue. You can get through it in just a couple of minutes, provided you're not running a gimped build or trying to minmax by disarming every trap and killing every ant.

play in 960x540 with x2 scaling. Looks fine and doesn't ruin your eyesight.

The greater issue is one of worldbuilding, or better said, undermining of it. Your tribe somehow built that massive edifice out of stone, by hand, in the middle of the desert, in a few decades, yet still live in mudhuts and tents.

The tribal shtick also made no sense since the tribe was made up of former vault dwellers, who should by all account have the technological and engineering know-how to build a functional civilization.

GOG and Steam versions of Fallout 1-2 have most of the modern patches pre-installed. SFall let's you play in wide-screen and enable scaling.

Ah, gotcha. There's also mods that let you skip the whole thing without missing out on XP or equipment.

There's an option to extend the console instead of adding extra UI elements fyi

Apparently little known Fallout 1 & 2 trivia(presumably using sfall): You can stretch the HUD with the log instead of the padding to actually make use the extra space. I don't remember how to do it off hand, but I do have screenshots of me doing it.

Also, I find 720p to be an acceptable resolution for late 90s/early 00s pre-rendered games when using a HD monitor. That is, assuming it's not stretching it.

I last did Et Tu in 720p, looked fine.

They added it back in ages ago. To the best of my knowledge, it's mostly a 1:1 reimplementation of FO1 with the option to enable FO1 rules that were changed in FO2.
IMO I'd just keep the FO2 companion rules even if it's not designed around it. Charisma/followers will feel useless without FO2's rules for them. But to each his own.

Nah pretty sure it's a preexisting structure that the tribals squatted for fucking stupid purposes, like the aztecs/mayans did with the ziggurats

Why are you guys like this game so much? It criticizes, mocks, and ridicules American society, your beloved capitalism, and the USA in general.

House is canonically the good guy. And House is 100% american.
Sawyer knew this, it's why he made it so you have to kill the BoS to join him to make him less appealing, it originally wasn't so.

I saw fragments of interview with different developers, they all say that he was bad character from the beginning.

FNV was Sawyer's creation so no other writer's opinion really matters on the overall plot, except Avellone to some degree as it was mostly based on his prior material with input from him. Not going to bother watching the video, so here's a copy-paste from the wiki:
There is a cut compromise with House to convince him to not destroy the Brotherhood of Steel in The House Always Wins V. Joshua Sawyer stated that this route was cut because it made no sense for Mr. House to spare the Brotherhood. He and John Gonzalez discussed the situation, and agreed that it would be in-character for Mr. House to not tolerate the Brotherhood. Additionally, it would be a more difficult and compelling choice for the player to make
The implication is that Sawyer knew that House was a logical choice. Sawyer was also at the peak of his libertarian phase when this game was made, becoming far more leftist since then.

Even if someone doesn't agree with his philosophy, he's so steadfast in his beliefs and uncompromising in his convictions that you can't help but respect him unless you're a coon. He also embodies a lot of the old WASP values in relation to things like work ethic and the bind of his word. Probably why the soylings hate him so much and why the tv show pissed all over his legacy.

As the courier, I always fulfill my end of the contract with him because it is objectively the right thing to do
