More bad news for Star Wars fans...

For discussing role-playing video games, you know, the ones with combat.

Have Star Wars fans had any good news since 2012?
Many people got fooled with the first season of Mandalorian
I never understood why the first season of the Mandalorian was praised. People kept saying "you have to watch this!" so I did and I kept waiting for it to get good, and it never did. The show absolutely dragged. On the macrolevel, there was far too many filler scenes and episodes, and on the microlevel the scenes took 10x as long to get to the point as they should have. The first season really should have been a 90 minute or 2 hour long movie at most. And then there the show being creatively bankrupt. It doesn't do anything new. It's just a rehash of the Original Trilogy aesthetics. It's yet another backwater desert planet with shady dealings going on. Yet another Boba Fett lookalike. It's another Baby Yoda lookalike. More Empire goons. More boxy, utilitarian spaceships with faded paint jobs. Oh look, it's that thin IG-88 droid gunslinger from the Nintendo 64 game! There is nothing here. And from what I've heard, the sequel seasons shoehorned in Luke Skywalker and that obnoxious red alien girl from the 3D CGI clone wars show. I just didn't see much actual quality here. Feels like people only liked it because of the memberberries.

I watched just the first season, and indeed it felt like a hollow fanfiction, that just happened to be set in the Star Wars universe.
The fanbase also didn't help with the forced meming, OMG BABEHH YODAAAAH, DIS IS DE WAYY etc. Bleh.

You have to take into account the context in which the Mandalorian first season was released. At the time, Disney's Star Wars had flop after flop and then came out a non-offensive series with a safe plot, familiar setting, lots of references and diminished focus on inclusivity/diversity. A 4/10 series dropped at the right time to make Disney rethink the idea that Star Wars was dead. Baby Yoda was also a HUGE hit merchandising-wise. ST toys had arguably killed Toy's R US and Hasbro was begging Disney to drop ST merch and allow them to work with OT/PT/EU designs instead.

I mean, if we are going to be that harsh and ignore all the pre-Disney Star Wars comics and games, might as well say:

Ewoks get a pass for Yub Nub
The only pass they deserve is over the table saw.
Fucking nonsense.
I thought it was bullshit in 1983 when we watched it in the theater and I haven't seen any reason to change my opinion.

I feel this is one of those things that could have easily been explained away by saying that a lightsaber's "blade" needs one or two seconds to fully materialize (as can be seen in the OT), thus rendering the technique impractical, especially if fighting a Jedi or Sith.

The notion that both refuse to use it because it's unsportsmanlike is hilarious.

I looked it up and apparently it started as "fanon" that somehow made it into EU bullshit

Wew...makes me want to learn how to mod Fallen Order/Jedi Survivor (even though I don't plan on playing those games).
She's a minor character, didn't find her annoying. But I also didn't finish the game, so…
Tbh I have nothing against the actress, I just hate that they keep using her over and over. She doesn't seem to have made any public political statements(?), and has no social media profile at all. I'm sure she's a nice lady.
…. Probably.
I don't find black women attractive so it's not like I have an opinion on her being ugly
Digging into it a bit, she just seems to be an actress who likes work. I'll throw the blame at the feet of companies who insist upon BLACKing up their games over her. She claimed to not even have anything to do with them making the video game characters use her likeness, they chose to do it.

Absolutely hate the trend of facescanning characters btw
You're seeing Debra Wilson everywhere because DEI initiative want african-american everywhere, problem is that you need someone at least semi-competent that shows up for work, which really aren't the main characteristic of the after mentioned population. So instead of having to deal with the consequences of their own decision, libtard dev decide to rely on the only one known in the field that they can trust to do some work. I don't think the actress herself is a terrible person.

Some fucking retard would translate Jacen and Jaina as "Yahken" and "Yaynah" for the official translation into my native language.
One of the reasons I learned English was to get away from this kind of shit translations and just read the original SW EU books.

I'll admit that I don't care about her whatsoever, so I didn't try to to dig for stupid take on social media.

It was lazy writing for sure. The entire series was carried on the back of Grogu (baby yoda) and it was a way to get non Star Wars fans to subscribe to Disney Plus.
