I’ve decided to start a new aesthetics mod from scratch(ish). I’m currently teleporting all humanoid NPCs to myself and deciding who is getting updated. The mod will also be modular so you can tweak it how you like.

That's great to hear that you work on a newer version of BBA. Do you plan to make it complementary to my Immersive Head mod? Aka not changing faces of African and Asian NPC as my mod already does the work on that part.

Yep! I’ll probably still make the main file work out of the box by itself (similar to what BBA is already doing), but I was thinking of having an optional patch for restoring the original heads so that it can complement your mod.

I'm using @orinEsque's schizophrenically datamined spreadsheets for the NPC UUIDs, and then I'm executing this in SE console:

And thanks for offering to help with the portraits! I was figuring that would be the most time-consuming part of this since I haven't figured out portrait refreshing yet. I'll hit you up about that, I think.

I think lexo didn't replace all the asian & african human heads, but the Human changes from my aesthetic mods will make the NPCs white, don't worry. :salute:

Orinesque's standard version leaves lore embedded NPCs alone so you might just use that one.

Could be just me, but I haaate the coifed punker haircuts Sazza and some of the goblins have. Astarion can get away with it, but Goblins should either be bald or styling their hair with mud and grease. Some of them have regular looking makeup too, which doesn't fit.

Quick update on this! This has turned into a collab project with some of the other modders on the forum (And by that, I mean at this point I've done barely anything myself while the others do a bunch of data mining and research LOL). I'm gonna stop being a lazy fuck and help out again.

@orinEsque did some scripting magic and got all the NPCs flagged who need fixing. Now, we're just strategizing on how detailed we want to be. Almost perfect choices!

If I may put in some constructive criticism, the aim is do "de-californify" the game and make basically everyone caucasian, right?

With that in mind, I think the Githyanki don't need to be tweaked/replaced as well as the Tiefling Female Head 3 and Strong Head 3, I think it looks cute and not that "diverse" :oops:
The male Gnome Head 3 may just need a little nose tweak.

Additional suggestions would be:
Halfling female Head 3 needs at least tweaks if not replacement, I think.
Elf male Head 4 and Strong Head 4 need tweaks badly, I feel like they look kind of retarded and not elf-like at all. It's something with the length and width of his face in the lower part that really throws me off.

Otherwise, I'd say those are all the changes needed for this mod. Thanks to everyone involved for keeping at it with this, it's much appreciated! :salute:

And one last question, do you plan to also edit characters like Cazador, who have unique face? It's very weird how he's an asian elf vampire. :scratch:

When I get around to it I'll do a script sweep for female NPCs with male hair cuts and vice versa....
Need to categorize which hair cuts are feminine, masculine, unisex first tho.

Unique NPCs will need a dedicated mod I think. I feel like this would be a mod for more generic NPCs.

Yes, unironically yes.

The problem with gnomes and dwarves is that the DEI shitheads aren't willing to let them be fantasy creatures any more than they're inclined to leave the elves alone. So gnomes and dwarves are modelled after real-life dwarfs for "realism". Unfortunately IRL dwarfism leads to some unfortunate body proportions most of the time, which is what you noticed here.

Can I ask if it may be possible to have separated files for important npcs such as Ravengard or Ketheric ? Because I already use mods to change their appearance so it would certainly conflict with yours. I hope that's not too much to ask.

Hunter is a very fitting name considering his entire purpose in the story is hunting Astarion. Him being asian on the other hand is just odd.

He could be asian because he's apparently ancient so traveling somewhere else is certainly possible. But why the fuck not give him an asian name then?

I think for main NPCs, we will have those as separate modules. So no worries
