RIP Ed, you'll be remembered for a few more days. At least you set this video to auto-publish before you died.

Some of his "reviews" are longer than most feature-length films. Honestly looking back, I wish YouTube had kept their 15-minute runtime policy. Without it we just get needlessly bloated content like this.
His reviews are good quality. Don't know why his reviews should be in quotation marks.
When was the last time you watched a movie review that went on longer than the movie itself?Dead wrote: ↑ March 28th, 2023, 01:04His reviews are good quality. Don't know why his reviews should be in quotation marks.

They're documentaries, not reviews.Tweed wrote: ↑ March 28th, 2023, 04:15When was the last time you watched a movie review that went on longer than the movie itself?Dead wrote: ↑ March 28th, 2023, 01:04His reviews are good quality. Don't know why his reviews should be in quotation marks.

I complained to Ed about this and he still hasn't fixed it.

Crimson Skies was one of those titles that I wanted to play back in the day, but I never got around to because I wasted an evening playing Q3 Arena or Broodwar with the buddies.
I ought to give it a shot before I die.

The crimson skies video touches on one of the more interesting parts of board game/tabletop game companies in the 90s: their ridiculous search for new markets to expand to instead of being content with their current customer base.
Who the hell thought this was an acceptable use of resources?

It looks like game developers in the 90s were regularly taking large doses of lysergic acid diethylamide. I wish developers were this ambitious today.
The later versions of those cabinets looked awesome.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ March 30th, 2023, 22:12The crimson skies video touches on one of the more interesting parts of board game/tabletop game companies in the 90s: their ridiculous search for new markets to expand to instead of being content with their current customer base.

re: flight-stick in manual:
Microsoft used to be in the gaming peripheral business, including flight sticks. Not surprising they'd use the manual to plug something they also sell.

It was called the "Angel Series 3" in the manual but there wasn't much info on that model.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ April 3rd, 2023, 10:51re: flight-stick in manual:

If you had watched the end of the Crimson Skies video you'd know it's Savage Empire.

Not true, I watched part of the Descent to Undermountain video! It was very informative and made the game look so cool that I was terribly disappointed at the twist reveal that the game is unplayably buggy.
