Wild thing to say in a world with Pete Hines and Emil Pagidkhowtospellhisgayname
these bumbling idiots would have been quickly devoured by the corporate environment if not for certain benefactors shielding them, and odds are that benefactor is the commonality between all terrible BGS projects, Todd.
Corporate environments are where middling parasites/bullshitters like Pete and Emil thrive. Emil managed to talk up his contributions in Oblivion (he'll crow till the cows come home that he did the Dark Brotherhood, but he also did the Arena) into a senior role for Fallout 3 which was a massive success and suits only look at numbers. Even Starfield for as much as the bethesda shield is starting to crack sold immensely well.
Not the gaming environment, especially nowadays for old white men. Job stability in gaming is mostly unheard of, and without todd I think the veneer of good games and their decent sales would have dropped as well. Especially so today, as why have emil when you can have some fag or minority do the same level of work instead for less money and bonus esg points? Even if the games are doing well why not just replace him unless his bosses cover for him

Emil's place is writing sidequests and sidequests only, he should never have been promoted to a chief creative role, because he treats everything as if it 'were' a sidequest. Where there should be meat and a meaningful storyline, he substitutes it with something banal and forgettable. I think Starfield is his first major failure, where he no longer had an established IP to hide his shortcomings. And despite how well the game sold initially, there is absolutely no franchise potential to be had. There will never be a "Starfield 2" or a Starfield MMO, it's a complete dead end and a dud.

People say that's good, but it's really shit.
The latter half literally railroads you.
If you're smart, you can see there's something really wrong and even effectively confront the suspect with some critical evidence, but that doesn't do shit and you can't act to head off stupidity because Emil's script railroads you so you're not allowed to actually do anything he hasn't scripted.

The first Indiana Jones movie was a Jewish revenge fantasy against Nazis.

Arrested development.
And it was great.
It's all about audience. They could easily make a pozzed "message" game or movie today and get their point across while still having a great story and action, they just refuse to. They were under the assumption that they don't need to anymore. If you go back to the 80s the message was already there, it was just subtle and interspersed with an actual quality product made for a specific audience.

Baker isn't even trying to sound like the character. He's just talking normally. Looked him up and he's an anime dub actor, which explains a lot.
Doug Lee did a great job in Fate of Atlantis, the only Indy game I recommend playing.

When they line up the employees to pick a scapegoat, it's very hard to see him.
