True epic badassery in video games
True epic badassery in video games
Post your "these sections truly made me feel epic" here. It needs to be real time action games, all genres welcome, but don't come talk about epic linking to some isometric shit or turn based game in there!
I'll start off with shmups: fight off the earth alien invasion in Eschatos, annihilate motherships and armies of greys!
Be part of a large intergalactic war in Silpheed (Mega-CD version)!
Put an end to the whale threat once and for all in G-Darius!
Now, for some non shmup content, the aptly named.. Goliath in Devil May Cry 5 :
You can't spell epic without spelling Monster Hunter:
Or a From game:

The Grand Cathedral in Serious Sam: The Second Encounter.
The score and the visuals through that level does an excellent job of bringing what would otherwise be a very boring level to completely new heights.Vlajdimir Ermenović wrote: ↑ January 13th, 2024, 09:04The Grand Cathedral in Serious Sam: The Second Encounter.
Nothing can ever beat the way Ace Combat games make you feel.

Not by any stretch. What better way to cap off the game about giant enemy waves than by going balls deep into exactly that? The openness and lack of things to hide behind are daunting, and the enemy waves escalate so you know it's building up to something. Notice hoe it gives you powerups which would be godsends in any other level, but here you're made to sweat bullets even with screen nukes, invincibility, and cannonballs at every turn.
I do agree the visuals and music are epic.
