What's stopping us from playing a non TLP EQ server?
The appeal was to go through the old content and work our way up. I don't know about other people, but I've been away so long that I don't want all the new features of the game thrown at me all at once. At this point we probably need to find something new to play since Deybreak broke it forever.

I've been playing on/off on Yelinak, a low-pop TLP server that's a year ahead. The price for krono has been going down since I started, people are now paying ~270k.

How about Bronan and Bronads?
How about Bronan and Bronads?
Only RustyQuest can save the HQ sisters now.

It feels to me like most of the people who played are completely new to the game, so either way we won't know what we're doing.Tweed wrote: ↑ December 5th, 2023, 09:09The appeal was to go through the old content and work our way up. Tweed and quitting are my favorite tag team.
so you guys gonna play EQ2 classic in summer or nah?
EQ2 is full of makework and retarded tier systems.
Why aren't there any good MMORPGs, Tweed?
Probably late to this... maybe it has already been looked at or discussed, but if you guys liked EQ, maybe a Private server is better?
Years ago I used to play on: Shards of Dalaya
https://shardsofdalaya.com/
https://wiki.shardsofdalaya.com/wiki/Main_Page
https://eqemulator.org/index.php?pageid ... rldid=2542
It used to be run by a guy named Wiz, who works for Paradox now and the games development was taken over by others. This is a custom EQ server, very unique with a lot of custom content and features that don't exist in live. It has raids, but its biggest focus was smaller group content. It allows for some boxing (limit of two I think) and has a lot of custom small group encounters that drop interesting loot and have cool encounter designs.
Some of the interesting additions were things like being able to level your necro pet which would gain special abilities over time and use like a player character. You could also add armor and weapons to it, etc... Lots of different quests from live and numerous changes to classes and the like. It isn't hardcore like release EQ, over time it relaxed some of its constraints, but last time I played (admittedly it has been a while), it still was more interesting than a lot of live stuff.
Anyway, it has been running for many many years and is well established (similar to Project1999), though looking at the sever numbers, it is pretty low at the moment.
It "may" be something RPGHQ could enjoy, small server, familiarity, interesting group based play, etc... and it used to be consistently developed. I would imagine there is a lot of content since even when I played (zones are not the same, different names, different zone connections, etc...)
