They should be happy. Imagine how much harder it would be for them to make a successful multimedia IP if they had been saddled with a terrible kid-unfriendly name that didn't just reference one war, but many of them!

For example, STAR WARS

Ahh yes, I'm sure those that refuse to use the classic Diablo 1 font in their nostalgia bait are surely not going to use this to announce Diablo Immortal VR edition.

Rain Annihilation in Reign of the Warlock

Blizzard Entertainment
February 11, 2026

Image

Fresh from the gates of the Burning Hells, the Reign of the Warlock is upon us! This major update brings the Warlock, the first new playable class to Diablo II in 25 years. The Warlock is a mysterious, dark scholar who’s spent years studying their taboo craft in the shadows, but no longer. Wield their awesome power to bind demons and wreak havoc upon your foes.

Reign of the Warlock brings fresh new Terror Zones, fearsome Colossal Ancients to conquer, alongside player requested quality-of-life changes, and more. Use this powerful new class to carve through the demon hordes, using your dark arts to dominate your foes.

Image

The rest of the article is long and I don't care to pull it all up. I doubt there are any active players here, but there *is* something that does pop out later below, which is this:

Steam
For the first time, Diablo: II Resurrected is coming to Xbox Game Pass and Steam. Steam players can jump in with the Diablo II: Resurrected – Infernal Edition, which includes:

Diablo II: Resurrected - Reign of the Warlock
Diablo II: Resurrected Base Game
Diablo IV: Forbidden Tethers Back Trophy
Diablo IV Warlock Kervek The Putrid Pet
World of Warcraft: Horadric Cube Housing Decor
2 Stash Tabs
2 Character Slots

Diablo 3 game director who famously said "**** that loser" when responding to mild criticism by David Brevik (creator of Diablo I/II), seemingly unaware that the day 1 sales of Diablo 3 were entirely due to the pedigree of Diablo II.

I don't know and I kind-of don't care, unless they're releasing a new Wasteland game, since those are the only ones they're competent about these days.

But this one was funny. I don't plan on making this a habit, don't worry. :popcorn2:

Warcraft III: Legacy is back on the Battlenet app.

If you own Warcraft III: Reforged, you can now play the old classic version. It is the same as the game before Reforged came out.

To get it, open the Battlenet app. Go to your Warcraft III page. Find the Game Version menu at the bottom left, above the Play button. Select Warcraft III - Legacy TFT 1.29. It will download about 6.25 GB.

Right now, you can only play it offline or with friends on the same local network. Online play on Battlenet is not ready yet.

This is great for the original story campaigns and old custom maps that work best on this version.

I hope I have access to it. My original TFT keys were used on my battle.net account so I could still play Reforged but without any Reforged features, but having the backdated version of the game is ideal.

The real question is why they did this. Intern project? Microsoft making an Xbox-exclusive WarCraft 4?

Executive making bank on polymarket?

6 years later, and they finally allow people to obtain and play the original game again after they completely screwed it up with Reforged.

More proof that if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I'm not particularly knowledgeable so please take my posts with a grain of salt.

More proof that good developers aren't hired anymore. They wouldn't be forced to put the original back on there if Reforged was actually good.

I haven't played D4 myself but being owned by Blizzard and the gameplay itself... I don't know why people bother. I've had such a refreshing experience with Path of Exile 2.
