Just do it alphabetically.
The intuitive order is:
  • Cluster by franchise
    • AG Classic
      • Date selected
    • Junior AG
      • Date selected

If they were segregated then I'd be unable to put wiz6 by wiz8.

True, in that case I would just decide which of the two a franchise should go in and accept a few inconsistencies.

Release date->series together in release order. More or less keeps AG and JAG separated.

@rusty_shackleford requesting that you adjust the badge ordering so I can have the Wizardry VI and VIII badges next to each other. The favorites mechanism isn't able to simultaneously group by AGC/JAG and do that.
I will get the badges fixed up later when I monkey around with the admin panel, I should improve it so I can drag and drop them
@J1M don't want you to think I was ignoring you, just really hate adjusting it at this point so I'm going to show you what it actually looks like:
Selection_019.webp
Wiz8 was at the bottom, I have to manually click the little arrow N times until it's next to Wiz6. It moves each time I click it, so I have to verify before each click to make sure I am once again clicking the right item to move it up again.

I need to implement a drag/drop reorder UI

I remember when you shared this before. It's why I suggested separating them.

If there were no other workflow (editing data file directly or something) and I had to do this would shrink the horizontal size of the window and use the the browser's CTRL-F function to make it less tedious.

Thanks @rusty_shackleford! I've reverted to the default ordering.

I only see one inconsistency: Lufia 2 should be after Quest for Glory. Used favorites to adjust it for myself.

I was really hateful in this thread and I don't even dislike the badges tbh
Must have been carb depleted.
I'm just stating the facts.
Question is are you going to gargle the truth or swallow?

Now that you don't have to worry about being a twink anymore, you should get fat and jolly.

Should the Morrowind expansion badge (Starwind) be adjacent to the Morrowind badge?

If yes, should Morrowind move up or Starwind move down?

Starwind badge is in the classic AG section which seems incorrect. I'd suggest moving it down and placing it after the Morrowind badge.

It was in AG before JAG existed

I agree this makes the most sense even though the Starwind badge is older. It doesn't seem there are any objections aside from it being a pain to reorder them?

Helpful list of badges that need reordering:
  • Lufia II
  • Starwind
  • Two Worlds II

Badges suggestion: if the rows of badges were centered, the last row would look better when it has less than 3 items.

But then you get to enjoy a brief respite until you have to beat 2 more games out of obligation again. Seems like a good system to get through the backlog.

Thank you for your fixated concern on my backlog of 3 games. I suggested the change because I thought it would make about half of the profiles look nicer.

I do want to get around to fixing this at some point but a lot of the forum is built upon very early web **** and breaks hard if it's adjusted.

The Ravenloft badge being blurry has always bothered me a bit.

I revised it so it conveys more of the pixel art look appropriate for an AGC badge.

Slapped together ME2 and ME3 badges. Tired to make a Cerberus badge for ME2 but the logo is vertical and looks like **** when you squish it to fit into the badge. So, I just used the .exe icons from the wiki.
They look kinda generic, though.

Came up with this ME2 badge during the recent close vote. The idea being that the badge for each game is the organization that Shepard works for in that game. Cerberus has a very vertical logo so it was tricky to get it to work for the size limitation, but I'm pretty happy with this. From an early look at it, the systems alliance icon for ME3 (god forbid it is ever nominated) will be even harder due to the small details. Though I guess I did promise if that happened I would make the badge an RGB reaper.

At some point it would be cool to make a set of pins where the individual images are connected to convey something extra when placed next to each other.

I think we already have badges where the individual images, when placed next to each other, convey "I have too much free time and no taste in games"
