Started up Fo4 again for the first time in five years to give this mod a try, and was reminded of why I lost interest last time:

I keep experiencing this frustrating bug where many of the enemies I encounter spawn with exactly 80 max HP. Even upper mid-tier enemies like Raider Survivalists and Super Mutant Enforcers that are supposed to have close to 400 HP. Enemies that should be challenging fights end up getting two-shotted by my shitty combat knife.

Is this a known issue with the base game? I can't find any mention of it anywhere, but I can't figure out which of my mods could possibly be causing it, either.
It doesn't happen for every individual enemy of a given tier, so I don't think it's a careless NPC record edit. I checked all my mods in FO4Edit, and couldn't find anything suspicious.

EDIT: 'recycleactor' fixes it, but could cause bugs if the npc is named, scripted, involved in a quest, and so on. If desperate, try 'recycleactor' and then 'moveto player'.

All I know is that base health of enemies is actually 80, so it sounds like no scaling at all is being applied.

Minor update.

Fixed a few bugs with the loading screens where NPC's textures weren't showing up.

Their new site update is really clunky to navigate. There is no "Open in new tab" option, clicking on a mod now sends you to a separate page, and going back from that page resets the whole list of mods. So, now it's a huge pain in the ass to browse.
And, holy shit, you can't even link to separate mod pages. The link is fucking broken!
Check out this link for the Grounded Commonwealth mod:

I found some oversights in the mod.
Found some more. Feel free to relay to the guy.

---Probably Bugs---
Carl's log refers to Sal (some badass ex-Gunner bounty hunter or something) as she. Not sure if the (always dead) NPC is male or female in the mod.

One of the founders of Cambridge polymer labs (the top genius who figures out the power armor coating superscience problem) is female. Her being married to another founder is a minor plot point, so that might be hard to change.

Boston bugle article terminal (article 3) refers to the 'men and women' of a US army infantry regiment.

Automatron DLC:
Jackson's Holotape and Zoe's Diary still refer to the robot as Ada.
Also, there was a line of dialogue with the robot right after you find the caravan ambush site and talk to him for the first time where a line of voiced dialogue didn't match the subtitles (can't remember which, ask about the robots and revenge and such).

The Vault-Tec Population Management System (from the Vault-Tec Workshop DLC) still refers to the bot as Ada during a VIP scan.

Anise Ciroletti, the chief brain extractor robotics expert scientist. Mentioned several times in various Mechanists' Lair terminals, and heard on a holotape.

Sara Wolliczek, another Mechanists' Lair scientist bigshot mentioned on one of the early terminals in the building.

The cig machine scheme terminal in Power Substation A in the Lair mentions several women working in the secret underground mad science lab.

Lair again. Test subject terminal mentions ex-military woman. Could have been a non-combat role, I guess.

Lair. Holotape in Mechanist's bedroom calls her Isabel twice.

Lair. Secret room terminal near the bedroom mentions more female genius scientists.

---Probably Fine---
The raider woman who lures you into an ambush in Hardware Town by pretending to be a civilian in trouble. That actually makes sense.

The lunatic drifter in Kendall parking who duct tapes frag mines to mole rats is female. Not really a problem.

Would appreciate it if somebody would send this on to the guy. I don't know where he can be found. I can't get telegram, and discord is retarded.

Note that I am still using an older version with an esp edit date of 2023-08-29 01:47 (possibly 1.16). EDIT: Tested quest bug with v1.19, still present.

Found a quest-breaking bug in the mod. The quest Vault81Tour (Vault81Tour [QUST:00099E5D]) gets stuck in a loop outside the overseer's office due to incorrect TSCE references in all 3 dialogue options. It should start the scene TourDinerScene [SCEN:00099E95], not TourOverseerScene [SCEN:00099E92].
Applies to:
[DIAL:0010E3A0]
[DIAL:0010E3A2]
[DIAL:0010E3A3]

I can upload a small hotfix .esp if anyone needs it. The quest is optional and gives almost no reward, but will be permanently missed if you turn down the NPC.
HERE: https://f.rpghq.org/VDkV0yqbktE9.esp?n= ... Fixes.esp

EDIT: Same issue with:
[DIAL:0010E38B]
[DIAL:0010E38D]
They're supposed to start TourHydroponicScene [SCEN:0010E3DD].

---Possible Oversights---
University Point:
Leslie Mathews, pre-war grad student and genius. Dating a fellow researcher, so hard to change. Mentioned in many terminals.
Jacqueline Spencer, post-war tech wiz. Mentioned in many terminals and holotapes.

Other:
Private Hart. Dead Gunner outside the witchcraft museum. Female (eww). Has a holotape.

Going to try out this mod if I ever get around to playing Fallout 4 again.

As cool as this mod is though, I think it goes to show how badly Bethesda misinterpreted what Fallout is. There's this really good video y'all can check out called "Bethesda Never Understood Fallout" (rest in peace Shamus Young  :salute:):

Basically TLDW, he talks about how what Fallout is SUPPOSED to be is an example of retrofuturism, where we depict the future as people of the past would have interpreted it. So back in the days in the 1800s, they thought the future would look something like this:
Image
Image

So if we made a game where we depicted a futuristic setting but as the people of the 1800s saw it, then that's an example of retrofuturism. But Fallout gets even deeper where we the futuristic world as the people of the 1950s would've interpreted it, but it was nuked to all hell and the old world is GONE:
Image

Fallout 4's issue is it suffers from just taking a 1950s-esque world with some futuristic technology and putting it in a post apocalyptic society. "Look, there's gangs wearing tuxedos and shooting tommy guns! A guy dressed as a baseball player is selling bats and has a funny Boston accent!" That's not what Fallout was supposed to be. But if Bethesda writers were going for "le funny 1950s in a nuked world" in Fallout 4, then we may as well go all the way and do what this mod does too I guess? But Fallout was never supposed to be a "caricatured America that never moved on from its 1950s Atomic Age culture". It used to be much, much deeper than that before Bethesda got their hands on the IP. This is a world where a faction of slavers and Roman LARPers wore football armor while committing atrocities because they didn't know what it was used for in the "old world". They just found cool armor that served their purposes.

This mod doesn't really fixed the inherent issue with Fallout 4 but I guess that goes down to the very game's DNA.

well i can't play it because it requires all of the dlc and I don't have any
have you tried pirating the game?

Pray-tell good sir, how one goes about safely pirating this and other games?

Just a point in the right direction would work if you don't want to get specific!

I played Fo4 a little bit on the PS4 when it first launched no DLCs etc.
So I want to do longterm play through ( I tend to dump hundred of hours goofing off in these games more than the kind of person to do tons of play throughs)

Anyway what other mods do people recommend I use that won’t/shouldn’t interfere with grounded commonwealth?
I’m excited to get my PC Playthru started

Those Russkies have one of the most extensive archives of media. From movies, vidya, and anime to all kind of software, audiobooks and regular books.
But it is a bit annoying how all the movies are like twice the size because they have half a dozen translated audio tracks baked in along with the original English audio.

1337x.to is good as well. Some people don't like them but I've never had any issues so far, and sometimes I've found shit in them that I couldn't do in other places (beware fake links though, always be sure you're downloading from the correct link or else you're in high risk of getting pwned

These are the ones I would consider the most important from my last playthrough. I can't promise that they're bug-free or fully compatible, but I skimmed the Fo4Edit conflicts and didn't find anything too worrying.
I do have a recurring bug where some individual enemies spawn with exactly 80HP instead of what they should have, but I have no idea if that's because of a mod.

Nexusmods is ghey, but I'm not going to go looking for alternate sources.

Binary Speech Checks
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2100

Encounter Zone Recalculation (Continuous Level Scaling)
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/45674
Yes, level scaling is lame, but the Fo4 system is the worst of both worlds imo. Enemies scale with your level, but the level of a given area is locked in forever the first time you enter it (or pass too close to it). This changes the system so that the scaling is updated when you level up.

Extended Dialogue Interface
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/27216
Full Dialogue Interface
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1235
LOOKUP FAILED - Full Dialogue Interface and Creation Club Fix
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/26575
I don't remember which of the two I actually managed to get working, but EDI or FDI is essential.

FallUI - Inventory
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/48758

FallUI - Workbench
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/49300

FallUI - Sleep and Wait
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/49070

Faster Terminal Displays
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/937

Hey Thats Not Junk
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3149

High FPS Physics Fix
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/44798
I did some manual tweaking on this one, but I don't remember exactly how. If you set it up right, it massively reduces area transition load times by disabling loading screen animations and uncapping FPS during loading screens (or something idk). Went from >20s to 3s on my old potatobox.

Holdup Pacify Fix
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/63826
Never actually tested this one, but it looks important.

Level Cap
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/6838
Personal preference. I don't like games where the player character can max out every skill and become Professor Bruce Lee, MD.
I set my cap to 50.

Reduced Level-Up Speeds
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2949
Useful if doing a long-haul playthrough with a level cap.

No Lightstep - Sneak Perk
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2152
Subjective. Stops the stealth perks from negating parts of gameplay.

No [REDACTED]
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12975
Minor spoilers in mod. You don't have to join a particular faction to gain access to a particular armor mod.

Quieter Settlements
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2819
Generators are fkn loud.

Shaikujin's Better warning for settlements being attacked
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4106

This Settlement Does Not Need Your Help - BS Defence Redone
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/63998

Vault 75 and 95 Vault Suits
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/54660
Good for suit collectors. It makes no sense that those ones would be missing from the game.

I could never find a keychain mod that actually worked.

I also use several power armor overhaul mods (mainly to make power armor much less common), but those tend to require some tweaking.

You also want basic stuff like:
Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch
Mod Configuration Menu

I have several unreleased personal mods that tweak various parts of the game, but none of them are ready for a proper public release.
I'll upload a fix I made for a bug in Grounded Commonwealth (v1.19) that breaks a minor Vault 81 quest.

Noticed a bug/error if anyone feels like reporting it to the creator;
Jun and Marcy Long has been bodyswapped. Ironically feels like exactly something Bethesda would do :D

I don't think there will be any patches, so anyone with some free time is welcome to finish this up and/or patch it I suppose.
The reason being, the author seems to have mostly stopped creating content as he lost his sources of funding.

Intentional. Something about how it matches their personalities and dialogue better.

(unless you're seeing some sort of voice/name/body mismatch, which would probably be the result of a mod conflict)
