Arcania isn't even a PB-type of game. It doesn't have the open-world (the whole game is linear trek from A to B), it doesn't have proper cities with sidequests (there are sort-of cities, but they function as a backdrop), it doesn't have day/night cycle and lacks all the typical immersive features Gothic was known for, NPCs don't have schedules, the power progression is basically non-existent since it's a linear action game. And the action isn't good, not even OK - just dumb button mashing.

gothic 3 with fan patches is actually pretty good, nowhere near as bad as it's regularly ranked

Archolos is ****. It's not a Gothic game, it's a Witcher game made in Gothic engine.
