Daily maintenance times

Post by rusty_shackleford »

Between approximately 12AM EST and 2AM EST, the site will go down for a very brief period to perform a daily backup. This will typically last no more than 5-10 seconds. If you get an error page, just wait a few seconds and refresh.

Because it lasts about 5 seconds.
To be clear, the downtimes do not scale with the size of the forum database. The downtime will not get longer.

There's a joke about level scaling to be made here.

What you can do is increase nginx listen queue. Then before putting down mysqld, pkill -STOP nginx.
