The politics subforum being visible is good as a filter/gate to deter certain types of people we don't want here. There will still be some who are not deterred and will try to stay here and may try to converge the moderation as with most other pop culture discussion places on the internet, but this will still cut down tremendously and make it easier to preserve the integrity of the HQ. There are also going to be other refugees scouring the web who will be more likely to be active here if they see upfront that this forum is not like every other converged forum.

Certain people have been saying that for years. "Hollywood is going to collapse any day now!" "Trump is going to cross the Rubicon and take out all of these bad people on the TV! TRUST THE PLAN!" and so on. There will be no sudden collapse. There will be no grandiose or exciting civil war with militias getting into big battles or The Purge style home sieges with homeowners shooting police battering down their door. There will be no "gratification" of being able to shoot people you dislike, or "mercy" of being killed quickly. We are just hitting another step on the long tumble down the stairs. You are going to be drained over the decades. Look at Europe for a taste of what is in the future for America: the wealth drained away from the native inhabitants who find themselves unable to find a prosperous career and surrounded by foreigners and a government that no longer serves the people, and the few energetic dissenters like Tommy Robinson are jailed for years on end with no one coming to break him out of jail and make him into a great hero of a rebel army. You will not enjoy the prosperity of your grandparents' age. If you become too high profile, you will be cancelled and you will lose your security and certain comforts of home. And you will have to endure that for decades.

Nothing will directly come from this, it's not a referendum. I wanted to see where the opinion was(seems fairly split so far)
I might use it for changes in the future.
