[Resolved] Req - Raven Queen Tag

Post by Auld_SnawBeard »

[edit] Please ignore this request. Turns out there was a mod that did this after all. [edit2] Well turns out there isn't after all, but enough of this :groan:

Putting a search term in quotes in the "Description" field of Nexus is generally the best way to look for something specific. Titles and tags are a crapshoot.

Unfortunately it turns out the mod you linked is just a visual text-line for the character sheet (Deity: [name]). It does not provide the cleric of [deity] tag, and in fact prevents you from getting it if you multiclass into cleric or make a cleric from the start. Scope is for roleplaying purposes, and an exceptionally sucky implementation at that.

When you say "description field" on nexus, what do you mean exactly?

Ah ********. But wouldn't that require adding [Raven Queen] dialogue lines to the game anyway, in order for the tag to do anything?

The description field is here in the sidebar when you search for mods. Put exact phrases between quotes:

Ah there it is, ty.

As far as I'm aware most dialogue the tag affects is generic and shared between all of them. There are a few exceptions such as Selune, and if you mod back the cut content then also for Bhaal, Bane and Myrkul, and possibly something from the important priestly NPCs you meet. So in other words I'll be able to use Deity Tag Activator and pick for example Kelemvor while pretending it's the Raven Queen, and I'll likely get the same result in dialogue. Having a tiny patch to change the name from Kelemvor to Raven Queen on the character sheet and on the tag just removes an otherwise annoying detail. And of course if there is actually any Kelemvor-specific dialogue then that will suck a little to get, as opposed to a Raven Queen mod removing those few instances.

But it's not a big deal either way. I just figured it would be really easy to swap a few words in the code (while hopefully not messing it up for bug galore  ) of one of the added deity mods, and so it would be worth it. The Raven Queen is one of the strongest figures in DnD I think, almost up there with the Lady of Pain ruler of Sigil. If any deity should be added to the game it should be her, especially with us spending an entire act in

.

It's much worse for all those who use that fail-mod running a cleric of a deity who doesn't get the tag at all, and without them realizing. The author describes his mod in such a way that the only way to know you get blocked out of cleric-specific content by him is testing for it specifically. Which is what I did, and the only reason I realized. He recommends pairing it with cleric subclass mods, which means all the suckers who do get the worst cleric experience possible. :groan:
