Always liked trolls but am not too in deep with their lore, and yet I am already feeling the "that's bullshit" outrage for his face. If the artist even knows what he is drawing, there is no reason why he should do something like this. I can't recall who it was at the moment, but I did see other such bullshit with other games where it felt like someone made a "character at home" drawing, uncaring of how much the details they changed actually matter story and lore-wise, or even just because what they changed completely changes the character's characterization. Feels like some secondhand China made knockoff of sorts passed around as "official".
Blizzard probably just hired somebody like Val sad, went "uhh draw this character" and didn't elaborate further, and it shows.

Also, his ingame model is a bit crusty (it's a modified male troll one). Still not an excuse.

His cutscene model is so much better and I wish WoW had a new engine.
Crusty and anything with undead go hand-in-hand in my opinion
Also, didn't know they used different models for cutscenes! I thought they had some pre-animated thing they placed on screen made with CGI or something like it. That said though, the most "modern" cutscenes in-game that saw of WoW and that I remember were from Mists of Pandaria.

It's nightslayer, blizzard banning GDKP and cracking down on botting has made the AH economy very strong. Id recommend a mage and herbalism

Do you think non-humans can become nobles of Stormwind?

Historically, it seems that the Kingdom of Stormwind was confined to Elwynn Forest, Westfall, and Redridge Mountains. However, in WoW, there is much more land within the vicinity of Stormwind that is not held by a major power. Just small local tribes of kobolds in caves, or has-been trolls squatting in some ruins in Stranglethorn Vale, all put to the sword during questing many years ago. Practically everything South of Blackrock Mountain is free game to be claimed by Stormwind, and arguably parts further up North too such as the destroyed kingdoms like Alterac, Arathi, Tol Barad, etc.

Furthermore, the Kingdom of Stormwind spearheaded the Alliance's military efforts for nearly 20 years, with human soldiers, human armor, human ships, human supplies, etc, comprising the bulk of the Alliance's military assets deployed on campaigns abroad and even to other worlds like Outland. Stormwind builds their forts everywhere. Stormwind could have massive tracts of land - more than could be settled and held quickly by just Stormwind's human population - to issue as a reward and an incentive for the best and brightest to serve.

For example, when you do rated PvP and rise up through the Alliance military ranks, a few of the titles you can earn are called "knight". Do you think that this is not just a military rank, but perhaps could also confer noble status within the kingdom of Stormwind, and also a fief of land? Could Tushui Pandaren who fight valiantly and rise up in the ranks become a baron ruling over some colony town in the name of King Anduin? Would they have a say in the House of Nobles (effectively having transitioned to being imperialist)?

considering modern WoW, it's probably illegal for humans to be nobles of stormwind at this point

stormwind was founded by immigrants

No. From my knowledge of fantasy kingdom names, Stormwind sounds very based, so they would never allow other races. They would prefer sparsely populated hinterlands, than allow jews to develop it and move favellaniggers and jeets in.

Weeelll Turalyon is a High Exarch, a Draenei-specific position, so I don't see why not.

They are setting high expectations for bare minimum FFXIV/ESO level of housing capability here, not SWTOR wall sockets.

I anticipate some RPers making barracks for their Alliance brigade RP guild to hang in, mansions for noble house guilds, dim cellars for criminal guilds, etc. And maybe FF14 styled casino venues advertised in group finder where anyone walks into sit down and /roll to play blackjack and gamble their gold away.

Yes, I do quite like how FF14 adds new housing decorations each patch. Each patch I go to my house to preview the new furnishings in case there is something I want that can enrich my house. Last patch added the new floral overhangs/ceilings which I spent a lot of time floating into position.

Disappointing, especially if it's going to Durotar/Orgrimmar or Elwyn Forest/Stormwind. Hope new housing districts/locations are rolled out every patch and we are not waiting years to get some real variety in locales.

Darn. Maybe the Westfall part of this zone will look more picturesque in 2025 like the golden fields of the Vale of Eternal Blossoms or Bastion.

The phrasing suggests that this will be a seperate zone/instance you need a loading screen to get into rather than a part of the open world, which is interesting. On the one hand, it would be hard to retrofit housing districts into the small old world continents, but on the other hand I think the almost seemless open world was one of WoW's greatest strengths. On the other hand, designing new instanced zones from scratch would look way better than making players stare at old 2004 zones.

If the Azshara portion has an autumnal forest slant with a picturesque view of the sea, that could be great.

Housing districts being mostly devoid of players is simply just how it's going to be most of the time. Only on RP servers where RPers spend most of their playtime RPing rather than doing world quests or raids will they have above average activity.

We chose these as our starting points because of how iconic they are for their respective factions and how much they feel like home to so many players already.
If they are going to be stingy about releasing new housing zones/districts then they really need to maximize bang for their buck with the next districts they release. Don't give us more mundane zones like generic forest or barren desert, but give us really fantastical nice locations.

Housing will offer hundreds and hundreds of decorations and house customizations via in-game rewards but will also offer a smaller number of items in the cash shop as well. This is comparable to how transmogs and pets are currently handled in game versus the shop. We want to allow players to have as many options as possible for creating their perfect home in Azeroth.
Due to the WoW token, it does not sound like crafting will play a part here, which is a shame because one of the few motivations for being a crafter in FF14 is to make housing decorations, the only thing people are interested in buying besides the latest raid gear and consumables. In WoW if you aren't a raider or a goldmaking spreadsheeter, there is little point in bothering with professions.

Hahahaha thank you very much! People RMTed to afford a house in FF14, and the main reason why I have not unsubbed in spite of the lack of things to do is because I don't want to lose my house after having spent so many hours tediously glitching items into position and the unlikelihood that I could get another nice plot like that again.

Oh dear, does this mean an Alliance farmer is going to walk outside of his house in core Stormwind territory, and see an Orc (those unrepetent lightdamned aliens who ravaged humanity for the past 40 years) also in the same housing district! Haha. Understandable given that they didn't make a 3rd housing district is a neutral lore location for neutral RP guilds to hang out in, but it will feel odd for patriotic RPers. Best thing you can do is just /e spit on opposite faction players when you see them walking down your street.

Will this be like FF14 where there is a UI menu where I can add my friends as tenants to my house, and they gain the ability to teleport to my house and stable their chocobo mount there, and can even edit/decorate the house if I tick that box too?

Don't care about non-RP realms, they can do whatever, but here on Moon Guard I sure hope the playerbase will remain sane and I won't see a lot of humans or Night Elves right outside of Orgrimmar or a lot of savage evil beastmen and zombies in an Alliance residential district.

Very interesting. I wonder if this will become the norm for Moon Guard RPers then. Horde Vanguard guilds all organized in the same private housing instances? Grand Alliance and Stormwind Law Project guilds all organized in the same private housing instances? That way all of the RPers and their friends are in the same wards/instances rather than being bunched up with some randos who rolled on Moon Guard but don't participate in RP.

Overall sounds good. Only real question is 1. how robust will the actual placing of decorations will be like, 2. how much variety in decorations and house structures/tilesets/kits will we get (and often will they be added), and 3. how often will new housing zones be added.

No. I hate MMOs with limited housing spaces where people become greedy jews doing lotteries and even go that far to offer real money just for a chance to get a plot.

You'd have loved UO then. Step out into the wilderness, except there isn't any, just endless suburbia. Anywhere a plot of land can be placed, there's a house, no matter how small.

New story patch has dropped so I have resubbed to retail WoW. Currently catching up on the two short questlines that were added in between TWW's launch and the new 11.1 Undermine patch.

Kirin Tor/Dalaran epilogue

I like Jim Pirri's voice acting as Aethas. He sounds really immersive. Unfortunately, his voice acting is juxtaposed with Kalecgos and Jaina. Night and day difference.

This questline was released after the first raid tier of TWW, so by this point Queen Ansurek and her generals are dead and the Vizier should have assumed control of Azj-Kahet and made peace with the rest of Khaz Algar. So why is Jaina sending us to fight Nerubians to reclaim Kirin Tor artifacts?

The messaging of the questline is wonky. There keeps being this insistence that the Kirin Tor were somehow bad and needed to be "reformed". Huh? The Kirin Tor throughout WoW did not appear to have been fundamentally bad or made any huge screwups. Yes, the Blue Dragonflight ostensibly "policed" mages, but that was only in out-of-game materials like manuals or books, and the Blue Dragonflight ≠ Kirin Tor. Also, given how dangerous magic is and how it is a specialized skill, it would be natural for there to be an organization that tries to cultivate people's skill and also deal with bad actors. The questline criticizes centralizing magical artifacts in one location, and the Kirin Tor having a flying city. What? Centralizing artifacts in a magic vault is the sensible thing to do. It allows you to have all of your forces at one location to guard them, rather than being spread out across many different locations where they can be more easily taken out. And what is wrong with a flying, mobile city that can be moved away from danger or moved closer to theaters of operations? Dalaran was not intrinsically doomed. It wasn't their fault that they didn't know that there was this never before heard of underground empire that could burst through the floor. They could have scrutinized the suddenly returned archmage more, but really this is disaster could have happened anywhere and is not a Kirin Tor specific issue. And what is wrong with having the mana bomb in storage? I never understood why nukes are singled out to be this conceptually evil thing. Dresden got firebombed into oblivion (or Teldrassil got lit on fire by catapults), and yet nobody is crying that firebombs IRL or catapults in Azeroth are evil incarnate. Etc. It just feels like there is a lot of talk about "we must atone for our actions" and "we must move forward and reform", but there is no substance to back it up. I don't know how you are supposed to have an effective organization without a definitive leader who can put his foot down and decide what is or is not going to happen, and who is the representative who interacts with the other leaders in the setting.
