Mod pack download, extract to vanilla Gothic 3(I used the GOG install, Steam may work?) directory & overwrite all:

Why? Because a lot of people don't want to fuck around with mods. Especially when the mods are scattered across sites, in various languages, etc., You can just download this, slap it over an existing install, replace files, and get playing. It might not be the optimal setup for what you want to do, but it will at least let you see what the Gothic 3 community has done with an objectively terrible base game.
Is that everything?
NO.
I strongly suggest you disable Alternative Balancing when you get ingame, it's on the main menu.
You need to install this font system wide, there's no way to load fonts from the directory(yes, including overriding the Gothic3.ttf -- it appears to be a red herring, it never even loads it no matter the setting! It's built into the game data)

Read on if you want to know more!
I made a 'frozen' installation of a standard mod installation for Gothic 3, this is for a GOG install(may work with Steam too?).
Contents:
Code: Select all
Community Patch 1.75.14
Parallel Universe Patch 1.0.5
Update Pack 1.05.10
QuestPaket 4.2
Content Mod 3.1 + Consequences 2.0
This was created by using a linux overlay fs with the clean installation as the bottom layer.
Try playing around with Entity.ROI in Ini/ge3.ini if you want. Bigger number = bigger simulation radius.
I need to mess around with these, so you can feel free to too:
Code: Select all
Render.PrefetchGridCellSize=10000
Render.PrefetchGridCellSizeLowPoly=34000
DistanceHigh.fFarClippingPlane_High=13000.0
DistanceHigh.fFarClippingPlane_Medium=8000.0
DistanceHigh.fFarClippingPlane_Low=6000.0
DistanceLow.fFarClippingPlaneLowPolyMesh_High=100000.0
DistanceLow.fFarClippingPlaneLowPolyMesh_Medium=50000.0
DistanceLow.fFarClippingPlaneLowPolyMesh_Low=25000.0
Probably can 3x those, they should all be modified in the same proportion
