Now that the dice roller is in place, I suppose it's time to start putting some campaigns together. What system(s) are you interested in playing? This is for information purposes only - this is NOT a commitment to play the most voted system, or saying only the most voted system would be used. Basically, I'd like to gauge interest in some of the more likely systems we might use.

Because it's inferior to AD&D 2e in every way. Unless you mean OD&D (1st edition), which I just forgot. I can add it if there's actual interest.

That's YOUR opinion. Some agree with you, some don't. I grew up with both, and though we (in retrospect) played 2e all the way without realizing it then, I must say that the quite intricate combat (or: initiative) system of Gygax' 1st edition is quite cool.
Anyway, I've settled on 3.5 now; I was just curious.

I played Shadowrun from 3rd to 5th edition, and DSA (Das schwarze Auge ergo the dark eye) before that.

I'm not too fond of rolling your character, even though the older generation loves it seemingly, I understand the issue with building them though, it takes so much effort that players do not want the charatcers to die and secondly it is an invitiation to min-max for a few players.

Yes. Depending on what the GM has in store you'll need to set aside a few days to get it worked out.

It's only hard for the GM because he has to assemble the setting and pick the rules to support it. Being a player is easy.

GURPS kinda sucks quite honestly. Its main use is cannibalizing its stupid amount of books for stuff to use in other systems.

Maybe I was playing an older edition but, I ready my shield? I nock an arrow? Wait that's my action? Well surely the game is balanced and an enemy 30 feet away can't close the distance in the 1 second is takes to perform that action.....right?

I haven't done it in ages, though I would not mind participating in such a game, depending on the system used (even though I did not Vote for it I would give 2e a chance as well but I simply do not know the PnP rules outside what happened in BG) is there going to happen something because of this Vote?

As stated in the inital post, no. This is just to see generally wht kind of interest there is.

Perhaps it may be worth considering some of those systems created specifically for play by post(n the traditional sense)? I know they used to be much more popular back in the day.
