I don't. It's not fine. Someone is giving me their old card though then I can just buy more RAM.

It's more than enough for anything but the latest AAA trash on max settings and smooth Switch emulation (or at least it was insufficient last time I tested). More RAM would be nice but it doesn't seem to cause much of a problem even when I fill it all up with browser tabs.

Posting my new one would be flexing, so I'll post my old one which is still a perfectly capable PC.

From my perspective this is still a flex so you may as well post the new one.somerandomdude wrote: ↑ July 10th, 2023, 13:53Posting my new one would be flexing, so I'll post my old one which is still a perfectly capable PC.

Nice. Do you play things at 240hz? Can you feel it? I know it made a big difference for me when I went from 60hz to 165hz.

A lot of newer games are unoptimized shit that won't run 240hz even on the above PC, but on the ones that I've played that will, there's definitely a difference in smoothness and responsiveness. 240hz vs 144hz isn't as big of a difference between 60hz vs 144hz for example, but it's still noticeable.WhiteShark wrote: ↑ July 10th, 2023, 14:05Nice. human eyes can't see above 30 FPS, it's why movies play at 24 FPS.
5800X and 3080. Full specs here https://pcpartpicker.com/user/GhostCow/ ... iew=nCdBjX
I badly want to upgrade to a 7800X3D and 4090, but just can't justify it since I still wouldn't get 90fps at 4k with ray tracing on and dlss off

This was an actual argument console players made back in the day. "We don't need more than 720p 30fps!"rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ July 10th, 2023, 14:13human eyes can't see above 30 FPS, it's why movies play at 24 FPS.

A few random SSD, one rustdisk because cheap and huge. Probably time to upgrade a few bits but I've been lazy, have little time to play and gaymes sucks anyway.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti
11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11700KF @ 3.60GHz
32 GB of RAM
Let's me play JRPGs (both PC ports and emulated) in 4K. Only issues I have thus far are playing MMOs. In WoW, my fraemrate drops below 60 FPS when I am in a populated city like Valdrakken, and can drop below 20 FPS when lightning AoEs are going off such as the first boss of Halls of Infusion or the Raszageth fight. FFXIV is usually 4K 60 FPS but can drop below 50 or even 40 FPS on certain fights like Anima. GW2 can stutter as well. I think that these games are simply old and not very optimized and there is no way to brute force the best performance with hardware.

My latest VGA:
This is the most high end card I've had in more than a decade. Bought it mainly for the reliable warranty. Chivalry 2 is running smoothly with everything cranked up. Feels good, man.

I have a 3090 because it was pretty obvious that 10 GB of VRAM wasn't going to be future proof. Pretty annoying how much louder it is than my 1070.

12 Gigs of VRAM? I can barely run a quantized LLM on that.
(JK.. It's AMD so I couldn't anyways)

I've only ever used AMD GPUs. Ever since the 90s when it was ATI.
Good stuff and highly underrated.

just started ordering the parts for this, put in the order for the 6950XT today. Was unsure if I should save up and get a 7900XTX or 7900XT or 4080 but decided that it was overkill since I'm aiming for 1440p and don't care about dicksssuckingllls or gaytracing. Wanted to try overclocking at some point, too, so I bought a rather expensive motherboard somewhat blindly. Will add a pack of case fans and shop for a good monitor at a steep sale around black friday.

That's a pretty nice build. Retarded choice on the mobo though. CPUs are maxed out from the factory these days and overclocking is dead. Always buy the cheapest mobo that has the bare minimum features you want.
