The game would have been improved by Lara looking like this in the cold areas, btw.

Yet again, coomers ruining things.
Yes, it would have.

I didn't mind the wetsuit though. WOOF, YOWZA! :smug:

Because one at least tried to give a reason for why she's dressed like that.
Might as well scream at Robert E. Howard for dressing Sonja in a chainmail bikini.

I fail to see the logic in doing the exact same thing the libtards are doing and antagonizing the public because they have a functional libido.

I tend to repeat myself on this point, but Goebbels had a lot to say about the dangers of puritanism and making an enemy out of the common man/woman.

Accidentally stumbled upon an article proving my very point.
https://www.techradar.com/features/play ... ns-forever
Being the only girl in a group of boys in primary school was by no means short of fun, but after I’d discovered Lara Croft, something changed for me. I was always happy to ‘play’ army equipped with a stick for a gun, but when I’d found Lara, I had someone else to be.

I could be her. I’d find myself jumping out of the way of Bengal Tigers or trying to perfect her walk as I traced the line of yellow football pitch lines beneath my feet.
For those formative years, and with being an only child, I truly believe that she helped me in so many ways that I know others may not understand. To me, she was strong, she was independent and she did it all with unbridled confidence. If she could, then why couldn’t I?
With age comes the understanding of how problematic this can be, yet for me back then, I saw, and still do witness, a multi-faceted woman. I still look at those images and see a person who knows who she is. She doesn’t have to put aside her intelligence purely because she’s attractive; Lara doesn’t have to be one or the other to be accepted. She’s allowed to exude strength and sexiness without sacrificing her scruples - they can all coexist.
If it wasn’t for Lara, I would have never co-hosted a podcast, I wouldn’t have even entertained the thought of having the opportunity to write this very piece. I’m forever grateful for finding Lara when I did. She’s changed my life in so many ways and I wish I could thank her for who she’s helped me become. Still, I can’t kayak, though.
Thanks, coomers. You've created this mess we're in, and you should suffer for it.
Thank you for your attention to this matter!

That has nothing to do with Lara Croft, since she was made by a man for a male audience, and everything with wahmen being wahmen.

You can screech about coomers all you want, but they weren't an issue (for centuries) until the Marxists were allowed to slither their way into hobbies and communities.

She wasn't. Toby Gard created her as an "independent strong female heroine" and left because she was becoming too much of a sex symbol.

1998 interview
https://www.gamedeveloper.com/design/in ... -toby-gard
It was never the intention to create some kind of 'page 3' girl to star in Tomb Raider. The idea was to create a female character who was a heroine, you know, cool, collected, in control, that sort of thing. The problem with those other games is that the female characters are actually there for purely exploitative purposes. I know you could argue that Lara with her comic book style over-the top figure is exploitative, but I don't agree. I think it's ridiculous to say that portraying stylised people is degrading. You can represent an over the top hero figure by augmenting characteristics like a jutting jaw, wide shoulders, thin waist etc. and that is not degrading to men. It may well be a stereotype, but it seems to me that people are overanalysing this whole thing. It's pretty simple, if women in a game are only there to be the equivalent of quiz show floozies then they are being portrayed in a sexist way.
Lara Croft was made by a male feminist to increase female representation in gaming.

No, it's not.
Hot weather -> people wear less clothing.
Rockets -> ??? -> *****'s uniform.

There is no logic tying the second one together.

That's a completely nonsensical argument. Yoko Taro is doing nothing that devs weren't doing 30 years ago. If he's pozzing the industry, then the industry, and every game made in it, have always been pozzed.

There's a world of difference between having an attractive female character and a game being straight-up pornography.

Even more risque games like Heavy Metal FAKK 2 weren't mere coomer-bait, since there was more to the game than just titillation.

I don't understand what the point of parroting Democrat talking points from the 1990s is supposed to accomplish, other than get the normie cattle to start saying the right is the same as the left. I see no reason to curtail the existence of attractive female characters, or to use popular media to promote beauty standards.

https://www.studycountry.com/wiki/why-d ... the-desert
Why do the people living in the desert wear loose clothes?
Explanation: To protect themselves from direct sun exposure and sudden sand storms while allowing body heat to escape through the natural fabric. The layers of loose clothing also slow down the evaporation of sweat, keeping the body cooler.

http://www.pbs.org/lawrenceofarabia/rev ... thing.html
eeveless cloak and a distinctive headcloth. The tunic is loose fitting, allowing air to circulate, preventing sweat from evaporating too quickly and slowing dehydration in hot, dry air.

The headcloth or 'kufiyya' is the most distinctive part of an Arab's clothing. It is held on by heavy woollen coils or an 'agal'. The ends of the cloth can be wrapped around the face and neck. It acts as protection from the cold, a shield from the sun's heat, and a screen to keep the wind and sand out.

https://www.desertusa.com/desert-activi ... -tips.html
Dress properly. Wear the proper foot protection and keep your body covered. The sun can be a killer. Change your socks regularly, even if you are changing to used socks. Sunning and aeration of socks and undergarments have a marked freshening value, physically and psychologically.
Do not remove clothing in an attempt to stay cool. This hastens dehydration. Wearing clothes helps you avoid sunburn. Cover up your arms, legs and face as best you can. If you have sunblock, use it.

They actually don't. If you look at people that live in hot environments and don't have the necessary melanin concentration, exposing skin to the sun just leads to sunburns. Look how the Bedouins dress.

>inb4 they don't do that in the West
They don't now, with access to sunscreen and indoor areas, but that's not going to be a luxury an adventurer away from civilization is going to have.

The interview you linked, the one you used to refute my claim, has the guy explicitly saying that he did not make Lara to be coom-bait, and that he's not a coomer.

So which is it?

Either Lara is coom-bait made by a coomer or she's a feminist idol designed by a **** to normalize women in gaming. You can't have it both ways, especially since women are the ones screeching about coom-bait and how it offends them.

Thanks God this creature failed and we get most iconic sex appeal in game industry!

I usually respect your takes, even when I disagree with you, but this is not an argument you're ever going to win - not against me, mind you, but against human nature. Marxists have been trying to fight against human nature for the past 200 years and have consistently lost, as has every other group that has tried to do the same.

I agree that there should be a limit to the coombaiting, since an excess of porn (or porn-adjacent) material is harmful, but it's never going to completely go away, and any attempt to erase it completely will have you become the enemy of the common man.
