Six Ages: Ride Like The Wind
Six Ages: Ride Like The Wind
Glorantha thread lads. I'm currently doing my second attempt, after bouncing off the game 2 years ago when I first bought it. This time around, I managed the food situation a lot better and established nice trade routes with my neighbors. So far it seems like a good successor to Kang of Dragon Pass I think.
Does it have the same problem as King of Dragon Pass where winning the game requires selecting the correct option in a single dialogue?

I like the Glorantha setting, shame it's so underused. Other than King of Dragon Pass, there's not much. Maybe there was a MUD? Or I might be confusing it with Role Master.
Thank you for your attention to this matter!

How is the RNG in this game? Do I have to pray hard, or is it manageable if I show a minimal, or even mediocre, amount of gray matter?
Just like Yves, I chase tales

I still remember the King of Dragon Pass game where I got some "chosen one" girl with super high stats and a lot of story events. Her highest stat was in fighting. One day a druid came and kidnapped a bunch of my people, and I sent her to rescue them. He just ******* killed her. I guess that was game over because after that everything went wrong and my tribe died.
Not really, they're essentially the same game just with a different story. It's just more of the same, which is good if you liked Dragon Pass.
No, it requires passing several checks, which aren't that hard unless you've mismanaged your clan really badly. The ending is extremely anti-climactic btw., a lot less involved than Dragon Pass but I suppose they're planning to compensate for that by releasing sequels.Acrux wrote: β June 22nd, 2023, 16:01Does it have the same problem as King of Dragon Pass where winning the game requires selecting the correct option in a single dialogue?
It's not bad. Listening to the circle usually pays off, though sometimes you can still get ****** but nothing is unrecoverable. I only rewound the year a couple of times. I got hit by a meteor after (presumably) failing the magic ritual to stop that event, which reduced my population by like 100, my swords from 30 to 12 and my herds from 900+ to 500. I recovered fairly quickly though.The_Mask wrote: β June 22nd, 2023, 22:19How is the RNG in this game? Combat has some sort of logic behind it, which I don't fully understand but I kept using similar tactics that made sense to me and I very rarely lost. One thing I find weird though is that you can wipe out the enemy army to a man but still lose. That only happened once though.
