You should check out the Adventurer's Guild and see if any of the games there pique your interest.

Witcher 1, don't know about the others

Din's Curse

Darkstone

Ultima Underworld 1 & 2

Arx Fatalis

King's Field (If you like Soulslop you should try the progenitor)

STALKER Anomaly with the RPG Stat mods

Witchhaven 1 & 2 (but I use the term arpg very loosely here)

Hexen with Wrath of Cronos mod

System Shock 1 & 2 (1 isn't really an RPG, but I don't care)

Shadowrun on the Genesis and SNES, both games are entirely different from one another

Risen 1 & 2

Risen 3 if you're desperate

Deus Ex

Not an rpg, but perhaps Severance: Blade of Darkness might be of interest. A sort of middle ground between Souls and Gothic.

I highly enjoyed gothic 1 and 2, also risen 1. I was excited for elex 1, but i couldnt get into it, i loved the exploration, the stories, i didnt mind the yunk and some unfair deaths, but i just couldnt do any damage. i couldnt get into it, i got frustrated after reading guides and trying everything at some decent level, i dunno if im just retarded or what, i went like an outlaw but those guns didnt deal any damage, and people just claim, go lasers, or go bow, but i want outlaw.. :headbang: i have tried it like 3 times and always ended uninstalling it but i want to enjoy it but i can't get into it. :autism:

Maybe i tried later. Friend recommend me RUNE (didnt check it before cause rune 2 kinda sucked at the moment)

Maybe Sacred and Blade of Darkness fit your list.

Just throwing a few more titles to see if they are to your liking - Fable, Shadow of War and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic.

Revenant from 1999 is one that I can think of that wasn't mentioned here.

Sacred 1 and 2, as Fitz already said. Also, The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing, maybe?

There were also the various Marvel inspired games, X-Men Legends 1 and 2, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance etc.

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 1 and 2, and there's a shitload of other action RPGs on consoles.

The jelly monsters broke my spirit, 2 is better

Just like most rpgs it becames repetitive, combats, skills, forge, i like a(rpgs), but i am not into all the genres, i am very selective with the diablo type ones.

Ironically as a boom shooter fan i can enjoy killing the same enemies with the same strategies over and over and never get tired without any narrative behind lol.

As for the rpgs i truly enjoyed like dungeon siege 1 or skyrim always had something "curious", something "adictive" in the exploration, always something "new and fresh" that make you change or try new things. Victor vran gave me that joy by giving enemies with many different skills forcing me to adopt new strategies and hooking me into the gameplay, also many funny details too, games like Eco dragonis or gothic despite the cluncky combat or mechanics, they just felt so good. So i know there are tons of old rpgs to try but just a few with those details, i am not an intelectual, so as you can see it took me a while to express exactly what i am looking for :old2:

Thanks to this place, i have like 10 games listed to try for my next vacations, thank you all, any other recommendation, i would be glad to hear it.

If you're not limiting yourself to fantasy, there was a sci-fi version of dungeon siege nobody talks about: space siege

There's a good reason why nobody talks about it.

@Evilangel Some of the Ys series could be of interest.

I seem to remember there was a problem getting Space Siege running on modern hardware, I could be thinking of Harbinger though... Image
(Was years ago though so maybe something has changed)

After looking it up I noticed that both Space Siege & Harbinger's physical versions use SafeDisc DRM, so perhaps that was it.

Dungeon Siege was a tad strange when playing on modern systems. The UI scaling was off and there were some other strange shit to it too. Ross did a good video on it, most likely the whole of HQ has already seen it. DS2 and 3 on the other hand run pretty well and are worth the guilty pleasure. Wouldn't be surprised if Space Siege also has similar issues seeing they are both gas powered games.

Speaking of lower-tier arpg's maybe the Warhammer one's could fit the bill here - Warhammer: Chaosbane and Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr. I've only played the Chaosbane one and wasn't really impressed. I liked that it was Warhammer but the maps and spells weren't anything memorable. The campaign was fun to go through tho. Also there was some really busted dlc class that looked really fun to play. Probably an inquisitor or something of the sort.

Martyr is the better one but I'm not that big of a fan of some of the design choices there - fonts, UI colours and other shit like that. Browsing through the steam reviews I see more than a few people have dumped over 500 hours in it and I doubt that's only because of the Warhammer packaging. One thing that stands out is that the last update for the game was in November of last year, which if you ask me is very commendable given that the game came out in 2018. Another plus is that Martyr is really cheap even with all of the dlcs included.

You could try The Ascent. Sci-fi arpg. It's probably in decent shape on PC (the console version was game-killing buggy).
