The one thing this game got absolutely correct where everyone else didn't (i think, i haven't played and watched every single 40k related game and media out there) is voice for Ulfar, everywhere else space marines sound just like some average dudes instead of a post-human monsters wearing tractor-load of metal on them. The VA for this character is great, but they also properly used plugins to make him sound like space marine should. So that's pretty cool.

Scientists don't actually know what Space Marines sounded like.

Well from what I have learned so far about the lore, by the time their years-long gene seed therapy is complete, Space Marines end up with three massive lungs that allow them to scream with such force that they could destroy the ears of nearby humans with ease.

I imagine even the casual voice of someone like that wouldn't sound "normal".

I can add a new complaint after we FINALLY got a spare ship this last weekend: it's AI CONTROLLED!? THE HELL!

What a wasted opportunity! So far we've been taking turns every ship battle. That will unfortunately continue.

I only got one, too. It gets blown up in one hit after a while and there's no explanation as to why it's back and fully repaired after each fight. Complete afterthought tbh.

Yeah, the escort ship is very "gamey". It does manage to kill some chaff for me, but it's not mentioned anywhere in the game so far beyond the project where you unlock it.

Pretty good stuff.
Preferring to use the dirty bisexual degenerate criminal filth instead of the based Sister Argenta is heresy of the highest order, Brother!

If it's gonna be degenerate filth you might as well go full throttle and pick Marazhai xD

Yeah ours was getting blown up every single fight as well. We doubled the strength and it still gets blown up most of the time.

Ugh yeah, finally got around to talking to princess bi-pirate. Tossed her out the airlock after the bisexual heresy.

I finished it and this game is a painful 50/50.
For every cool thing in it you get two boring and mind-numbing ones.
This easily could've been 10/10 game with extra polishing, the foundation is solid but everything on top of it is so crooked.
I wish the writing was better and that horrible, awful, no good perk system wasn't the way it is, it is excessive where it could've been just normal.
The crazy perk system is I think the worst I've ever seen outside of maybe some of those D&D games with stick figure graphics. And I still get confused over the "Wounds" thing. Just call it HP like everyone else! Sentences like "When you run out of wounds you die." and the like are .... amusing.

Marazhai is one of the best companions, in the way that he is a perfect representation of a dark eldar and written excellently. Plus his voice actor alone is a good reason to bring him along, great voice and line delivery. The guy is having a great time and you hear it in every line he says. I still have his battleshouts in my head when he goes absolutely apeshit and it's just great. Basically the only reason to play iconoclast and not dogmatic is to have an "immersive" reason to bring him along.

Yeah, I'd unironically agree. Out of all degeneracy for him it is very much in-character and appropriate. Dark eldar are meant to be degenerates to the extreme and pretty much universally "evil", so this fits the source and grimdark, at least as far as I've gotten in the game he didn't break that character.

I look into the final boss only to see how bloated he is.

Image

Come on. This is ridiculous bloat. IMO this game should be like WFRP 2e. Not even a freaking Bloodthirster greater daemon has 3 digit hp. A hellcannon from chaos Dwarfs deals 6d10 damage and is the hardest hitting "stuff" in the game. Urannon’s Thunderbolt, the strongest spell in the game deals 4d10 damage. We need lower numbers like this.

Marazhai is exactly what you'd want out of a Deldar companion. Meanwhile Yrliet is an obnoxious cunt who I send into the maw of Slaanesh every playthrough.

That’s why you bring cassia and use her navigator powers which cuts down the boss HP by half in one move.

Owlcat just loves their stat bloat and gets surprised when people get annoyed when they apply a lot of nerfs in patches since it messes up a lot min/maxing builds.

Big numbers don't mean great power. If an American player changes from mph to km/h in War Thunder, the numbers become bigger, but the plane performance is the same. Numbers are much smaller in AD&D 2e than in 4e, yet monster abilities and spells are much stronger in 2e than in 4e. Inflated numbers mean nothing. If the average illiterate peasant has 10 INT and a genius scholar wizard has 16–18, we can speculate about what 15 INT can accomplish and not. If the numbers of int are 10 and 5454641854165165646, the number lost all meaning. Same with strength; if a regular sedentary nobody has 10 STR and Eddie Hall has 18/99, we understand what these numbers mean. If Eddi Hall had 16556148615631568511651685 in your system, that number means nothing.

Human brain can relate to smaller numbers easier than bigger numbers. Even when we talk about very large scale, like countries GDP, we use billions and trillions to make easier to understand. With currency, if WoTR had a Argentine tier inflation problem, Rogue Trader has a Zimbabwe tier inflation problem.

Basically the only use of AI ships is to take fire from you for a short period and/or split the enemy up so you can pick them off without taking fire from other ships. With some good tactics you can split them across the map so that when they finish the AI ship it will take them 2-3 turns to get to you.

We both still marvel at the lost opportunity. Multiple ships in coop, you can only control one. :headbang:

Owlcat fans pissed me off . People asking legitimate questions on when the next Rogue Trader DLC is coming out since it been more then half a year since the last DLC and fanboys come out responding saying that you should have more patience or your just want Owlcat to rush the content out the door.

Fuck these people.
