Downloaded it today, it worked pretty well on linux. I just tried it to see if the game works, but I'll play it tomorrow. Will post what I think about the game.

Albion you can easily play it using vmware and an old windows installed, maybe even in compatibility mode, but never tried that. Turns out i still have the original box and CD, but on ths pc no cd rom drive anymore.
As for ambermoon , i'll give you some hint if you really play as there's some hard to guess puzzles : fill the well with stones.
An awesome amiga game way ahead of its time, two miserable floppies and it had full day and night cycle, multiple companions and a very interactive world.

Doesn't Albion have a GOG version, though? Is it bad?

The low FPS of the DOS version's 3D scenes makes me feel sick, it's something that has been frequently reported. The only fix I've found is to play the statically recompiled version that allows the 3D scenes to run at 60 FPS.

I wonder if the original Ambermoon and Amberstar were developed on/for PAL or NTSC Amigas, as it affects at what speed the game runs. Thalion was European company so I'd wager a guess that it was made on PAL computers.

Looks great.
Will keep this on my radar for when I get around to this series. Hopefully it's finished by then. I assume Amberstar works without issue out of the box?

Yes, it's a simple unpack and play. If you use automatic updates, then the A. Advanced option is available as a choice from the start.

The base game is finished, by the way. It's only the new Advanced modules that are still being worked on, and they are blended into the base game. It's not an overwhelming change.

Have any of you played Dragonflight, the predecessor to Amberstar/Ambermoon?

Always good to see more Libre games being made. Currently enjoying Arx Fatalis, but this seems interesting for those who like old CRPGs.
