It's quite literally an anime aesthetic. They aren't making it with a cal-arts aesthetic.
Leftists and troons heckin love anime/jap stuff, and this really upsets weebs for some reason.
While anime's influence is quite pervasive in the art these days, to me, it has a generic Adult/Dark Western Animation aesthetic (think Blood of Zeus/Gods & Heroes, Castlevania, etc) but with heavier lines/shading. If anything, it is looks like simplified vectorart based on some western comic artstyles circa 2010.

According to the lead designer, some influences were:
When thinking of dark, fantastical ink work it’s hard not to invoke the incredible Mike Mignola. We also found influence in Fred Taylor, a mid 19th century poster artist.

the only reason i started the 'christianity won't survive wokeness' thread was to see if i could feel how rusty feels when he did stuff like this, attacking something good for evil reasons.

i have to say it did not disappoint. pushing christcuck buttons by shoving their religion's wokeness in their face is really fun.
You know, aweigh, I had no idea you thought that way. You can add me back to ignore now.

And for good measure...

The following statement is hereby meant solely as a personal insult to aweigh:

BEGIN STATEMENT

Japan is dumb.

Maybe comes close to the Jojo style I always found really gay and couldnt get into. But it looks nothing like 99% of the other animes where they have big eyes and small noses, anime style is to make girls cute not look like a body builder like the one on the right.

Hades looks like a comic book artstyle, which is what inspired Anime in the first place anyway-- except, as Miyazaki basically stated, the unique features of the style were developed out of mistakes initially made.

Informative, but how does that relate to the reality that Hades' art style is visibly inspired by Western cartoons?

I suppose if the Artist started off drawing a more triangular head for the thumbnail/ rough sketch this would be anime too?

This feels like one of those niggers that gets angry that AI are capable of detecting that niggers commit more crime. Racist AI detecting that hades is in fact an anime stsyle!

The point is that it could start off one way and still end up as the same thing.
You're looking at the rough sketch rather than the final thing, from a particular angle. It's pure copium.

Any normal person(read: non-coombrained, non-weeb) can tell that Hades is anime-style.

Succinctly explain to me how the following picture is inspired by anime rather than Western comics?

Western cartoons draw a more realistic nose, and outline the shape of the lips. They also utilise more solid black shading & thicker outlines.
The only thing I can see which is inspired by anime is a lack of skin details outlined on the men, and making the eyes into more of a rectangular symbol.
Even Western cartoons have characters with triangular faces, it's just that anime usually doesn't have as much variety.
