That title totally caught me off guard. For a second, I thought Red7 had submitted a character right before the episode got posted.

Episode 33: Darkness Falls
Dorfleet hears screams coming from his bedroom and runs to to help

His incomprehensible cavewife was covered in lacerations she definitely didn't have when they went to bed

Even Vergil is getting cut up by unseen foes in the courtyard

McGee arrives via transport pod, oblivious to the danger around her. BD can barely contain his excitement.

The animals seem unaffected

Captain fucking batters McGee with a mace for not converting to our ideology immediately. As an aside, we've been outfitting everyone with uranium maces as sidearms. Uranium is the best material to use for blunt damage, and blunt weapons will help us do damage to armored enemies.

The hospital fills up with people who were slashed while in dark areas. Only well lit areas seem to be safe.

Hoss decides he's going to take out one of the three glowing spires that have dropped near the base. There's a stretch of darkness between here and there, but he has decent armor

He sets out, taking a crack to the jaw

Then he gets to work whacking it

Hidden Figures emerge from the darkness to play the knockout game

"Disgusting black creatures. Get out of my sight."

Deciding that he doesn't want to die in a gay cowardly way, Hoss throws a molotov cocktail at his feet in an attempt to burn them all alongside him

Stack uses his shadowskip ability to help out

Then he uses his chaos skip to warp Hoss to a random location, which luckily happens to be in the direction of the base

Elsewhere, teams are fighting enemies that have appeared from shadows in the battlements. They're always keep in the dark to make it harder for enemies to get good shots at is.

Backup arrives and helps Hoss get inside

The courtyard has been breached. Traders who were visiting recognize the creatures as "noctols".

Everybody has been ordered to stay within this area that includes the hospital, dining area, and bathroom for the time being. The wolves too, since the noctols aren't holding back against our animals anymore.

A baby megaspider goes to attack one of the two remaining spires

Stack zips out to the other

Which draws the ire of more noctols. Stack warps back to the base, the megaspider isn't so lucky.

Stack uses his permit to call in a squad of Empire troopers to hold them off while we come up with a plan

They're a little outnumbered

You can see one of the spires glowing in the top right and another in the upper leftish

Everybody assembles in the courtyard. We've resolved ourself to make a desperate push towards the spires. Many of us are covered in bandaged slash wounds, but if we don't stop the noctols they'll break into the base where our beautiful and lovely families are taking shelter.

Step 1 of the plan: use the walls to kill as many as possible to clear the way to the first spire

Step 2: oh shit they flanked us and everybody is being cut to ribbons from standing in the darkness this is awful oh fuck

The march of shame back into the base

Stack calls in a more powerful janissary squad to cover the retreat

God love 'em

The base is now covered in blood as we have to think of another plan. The men are drawing straws to determine who should ride out on the dirtbike when the womenfolx have an idea

Everyone still capable of fighting heads outside again to clear noctols from the courtyard

Then they form a line to defend the mortars while our precious and beloved wives man the mortars.

They're fucking godawful shots, but we've been putting together a decent stockpile of shells over the last few weeks and they eventually get some on target.

When the last spire falls, the sun rises

Use the coins to either bump up Tangerine's melee or give him a damage reduction trait, whichever is more useful.

That was clearly a bad choice of matchup. According to Bulbapedia, Noctowls are resistant to bug and only normally damaged by dragon. They're weak to rock, electric, and ice.Oyster Sauce wrote: ↑ March 20th, 2025, 16:33A baby megaspider goes to attack one of the two remaining spires

Episode 34: I Hope We All Die Soon So I Can Stop Writing These
Jordy's shit roll causes all of the wild animals to go nutso and attack us

Tangerine buys the Deftly Dodger trait that makes it easier for him to avoid hits in melee. Fucker has 15 traits now.

Stack's getting more and more obsessed with the golden cube. He also gets a year older from his roll. Sad!

ACOD's roll triggers a thunderstorm, which burns up a bunch of our crops

Medicine stockpile is getting pretty low. Always need more.

Even Captain's thinking about this cube now

Val has a second kid on the way

A solar flare hits and knocks the power out while Boon is performing surgeries. Not gonna stop him though.

Koze gets the archotech womb. Will it matter when her husband is oviparous? Time will tell.

Tangerine gets the psychic shield, giving him an extra layer of defense

Elias consumes the bodies of allies who died in the last fight and gains the ability to... resurrect the dead. He has to sacrifice a natural finger every time he does it. The finger is cursed and cannot be replaced by bionics, regrown, or restored via any other loophole. Might be worth getting on his good side or bribing him with turtle coins.

Hoss wants to shave a few years off. We don't have anyone imprisoned except for this guy we've been draining the blood of constantly. We've been feeding and sheltering him for years at this point so it's only fair.

Stack's feeling withdrawal from not playing with the cube

Hoss is looking spry again

We get a quest to babysit a pig and take the second reward, which includes the honor "First of his Name". We've kind of been neglecting these so far. Honorable titles can be bestowed by nobles onto other nobles for a permanent bonus.

Such as "the Marksman", which Stack bestows upon Boon. With it, his shooting skill will never deteriorate.

Some friendly tribals have allowed us to visit their settlement where they worship an ARC generator prototype.

We're still gathering intel on it so we can build our own.

They didn't really appreciate when we starting messing with the data terminal. Look, don't touch and all that.

The prototype is destroyed during the battle, but that's ok since the terminal is fine

Turns out the engineer who built it, Lise Cavendo, is in a crytosleep casket in a bunk far to the north. If we can nab him from it, we might finally be able to make our own.

The team touches down on our brand new helipad

The bunker is allll the way at the north pole where the cold can kill you in a matter of minutes, so we relax for a bit before sending anyone out

BD and Lisa finally get to spend some time together. He insists on calling her Alice, although she doesn't get the reference.

Quite a small bunker. It's -193F outside so we'd better make this quick.

It's not much warmer inside. We blast the automated turret.

Zoth opens the casket, and out pops Dr. Lise Cavendo. Very disappointingly, Lise turns out to be a guy. He has the ability to convert an advanced component into an ARC component once every week or so. He's happy to get out of here and join us.

Captain makes a cube statue in a fugue state.

Raviola hasn't been feeling too well lately. Her age is finally catching up to her.

We build a trading console and get access to banks and the stock market. Much like I do in real life, we buy something completely at random and will never check it until desperation sets in when the rent can't be paid.

These niggas obsessin

Captain keeps making more cube statues

Chuck's starting to get old and shitty too

Val's been itching for a fight with Captain ever since he beat the shit of that woman unprovoked.

They clash

Captain Save-A-Hoe ends up on the floor.

Val might be good with a sword, but Captain is still a fucked up vampiric monster at the end of the day. Maybe get some bionic implants or something next time.

An exotic animal trader stops by. We grab a breeding pair of megachickens and pheasants for their interesting abilities.

I didn't actually look at them before buying... this may have been a mistake.

Expanding our hydroponics setup to have a steady year-round supply of useful crops. It actually turned out to resemble a friendship windmill completely by accident.

The wedding of BD and Alice

A trade caravan we sent out is waylaid by exploding jellyfish. Gaylene pops them with her SMG while MC hides in the back with an empty handgun

Moments later, they're held up by bandits who demand a toll

Tangerine pops the first guy he sees in the face, shattering his nose and tearing out both of his eyes.

Back home, two of the exotic animal traders take Stack by surprise outside of the throne room.

They were imperial deserters who disguised themselves as traders to get access to our base and assassinated the highest rank noble we have.

The bastards don't have anywhere to run and are taken alive

Prissy gets Stack to the hospital for treatment.

Beatings are a given, but what should their ultimate fates be?

A bunch of meteors with rare materials crashland outside the base. Very nice.

Duke's been using a salvaged warcasket weapon this whole time, but we've just researched the ability to make them ourselves. Going to upgrade his autorifle to a charge lance unless something sticks out to him.

Prissy is preggerz

We help ourselves to the deserter's bionics and implants. An advanced bionic hand, a venom talon, and a memory databank brain chip. Anyone interested?

Duke gets the hand though. Feels right.

We've built some shard beacons in the ritual room using materials dropped from anomalies. Our rituals will have more effective results now. One of the deserters was a minor, so we age him up to be able to try him as an adult.

A horde of slowly shambling zombie plasteel turtles makes its way into our turf. We're planning on just avoiding them until they fuck off.

There's a blood moon in the sky. Our vamps snap and start draining blood from people at random.

Elias even preys on passing travelers

Waifu is out in the courtyard when a ton of drop pods rain down. This could be bad...

Except it's our imperial allies, who've come to assault the zombie turtles for no reason

They wisely send in their melee fighters to gather them all into one spot and then fire rockets at them

A few die, a few we nurse back to health. Thanks I guess?

Our traders return home with a ton of components and steel. We're really hard up for both at this point and have nearly strip mined the entire mountain we live in.

A mech cluster deploys outside the base. I really really hate fighting these guys.

During a regular beating, Captain accidentally destroys this guy's arm. He'll later go on to the lose the other one when it's Vitya's turn too.

Babies crawling around everywhere.

The cluster is still mostly asleep, but there's an automortar that's fucking with us we need to deal with.

Boon heads up there alone

The cluster has high and low shield generators. Low ones block projectiles, high ones block mortars so they're pretty much unassailable until that's dealt with.

Our megapedes take out the shields which I really expected to wake them up, but it doesn't. They swarm the automortar which explodes and does rile them though.

Boon fires the doomsday rocket launcher he brought into the mass of mechanoids chasing the bugs before immediately retreating to the wall with his enhanced speed psycast.

None of our bugs make it out

Our mortars are free to lob shells at them now

We're dealing with them pretty easily at the chokepoint...

When suddenly two groups of fuckin' cavemen assault our base on each side

Tangerine isn't fighting the mechs so he heads out to deal with the east flank

He uppercuts the head off of the first one he sees

Then they swarm him.

Power armor, energy shields, and 15 melee traits are a hell of a combination.

Still, just using his fists his damage output isn't amazing. He has a mental break from starvation during the hours he's spent fighting these guys, but he keeps punching since he has no way out. The wounded crawl out of the fray missing limbs and bleeding out.

When they finally grab their wounded and rout, he's surrounded by 23 corpses (there's another that was knocked into the river and is drifting away)

I completely forgot about his mental break so he's able to freely release the gorehulk we had tied up and beat it to death.

Elias absorbs the remaining lifeforce of the very convenient pile of bodies. He can now raise the dead to attack our enemies.

At the age of 521, Raviola passes away in her sleep due to advanced age. A real one who's been with us from the start. She will be missed.
