Probably people wouldn't vote for random games they have never played just to vote, so yes.

This will be needed by the time of the 2024 poll.

And what a poll that will be. First game to get 2 votes wins...

Voting "None" because it's funny, but my answer would be "Yes". That said though, for me, when there are shit things and I am given the option to say none are good I may end up depressing myself into clicking it by focusing on the worst the games had to offer, thus potentially not giving a fair amount of thought to the positives. That said, if a game was so bad I have to think for a positive it shouldn't be "game of the year"

"None" should be able to win.

It should be a valid outcome to say that none of the games were good enough to be featured as GOTY.

We would need to consider solutions if that starts to be the norm though.

Just don't vote if you don't want to vote for any of the options, seems simple enough to me.

All polls need older games as options too.

Too late for that. That would require a total reset.

Gamers need better standards. Stop eating slop or getting hyped for it. Just play one of the literal thousands of good games, or read a good book, watch a good movie or opera, listen to good music, literally anything. Everyone knows modern movies and radio are retard slop and to stay away. Dunno why gamers can’t do the same. It’s always “ugh this time will be different my based zoggie studio will pull through!!!”. Cannot think of a single example of when they did.

There should only be 1 vote. It's a Game of the Year poll, not an All The Games I Played This Year poll.

Asking gamers for self restraint/ impulse control is like asking a lion not to eat a defenceless gazelle in an open field.

Except the lion is based. I think a better analogy is asking the modern gamer to not use their stimmy money on a calf tattoo.

It's a joke about the posters here making their own games as a potential solution.

Would be nice for it to happen even though it’s very unlikely.

Edit: I completely forgot that one time a few 4chan members actually did make a game which was a shockingly good visual ( one my personal favourite honestly)Katawa Shoujo.

No it ruins the entire point. "None" is not a game. If you really don't like any of the games you just don't vote. "None" is a cop out choice.

The main problem with this is that you can't remove your vote on a poll.

This is true BUT consider that it might filter out some of the retarded joke votes that the last poll had.

None is kind of a retarded joke vote though in a way. I mean it's just a cop out "wowie I'm so cool and hardcore I hate ALL these games and didn't play them" choice.

If I don't play any of them I will simply not vote.
